My boyfriend and I stayed in MaoMeno for 5 nights. At our arrival kindest Eva welcomed us with clear, professional explanations (about the resort and Gili Meno) and the greatest smile. She really makes the atmosphere of the stay peaceful and friendly, thank you dear Eva! MaoMeno is an original, unique resort right in the middle of nature. We loved the sound of nature and being surrounded by animals (cats, cows, chickens)...In the morning you wake up with the sound of the animals (not good if you want to sleep late, but I think in Gili Meno it's worth to wake up early, following the rhythm of the sunlight, also because it's a small, romantic island and it's beautiful to go to bed early, maybe after reading a good book, it's not the place where you dance till sunrise). The outdoor bathroom of our bungalow was beautiful, all made with wood and bamboo. The terrace (with a sofa and a table) in front of the garden was so relaxing and quiet. We used the laundry service, so good and handy. The room is simple but you have a/r (much needed because of hot weather, it saved us). The last night we slept in the Artist house, which is simply amazing. Compliments to the interior designer! It's a two-floor villa with a big terrace (we loved the hammock overlooking the yoga center and the garden...where cows passed by!). Huge bed and another great outdoor shower. The Artist house has more comforts than the bungalow (ex. Hangers for clothes/Lights in the mirror of the bathroom (for make up)/wi-fi (if you want it)... The only thing that I would improve is breakfast, the choices were good, the food was good, but personally too little. It would be nice to have both a cold and a hot drink and maybe some fruit beside eggs or viceversa. Also I would add a person for breakfast, when the first days we were the only ones the service was fast, but when other guests had to eat at the same time we waited half an hour. Anyway, MaoMeno in a peaceful oasis in the middle of Gili Meno, 5-10 minutes on foot from the nearest beach. The staff is adorable, always kind and smiling, Eva, the boys that served us breakfast and were cleaning. I totally recommend it... Just be sure to bring a torch because at night there are no lights outside the resort. You can ask to have dinner at the resort if you like, but we were going out so when we had to go back it was all dark...But that's part of the adventure in nature, too! We didn't use horse carts that you can find in the island because of the poor conditions of the animals. Unluckily we couldn't try Yoga because the teacher wasn't there but maybe next time we will...!! In MaoMeno you disconnect from routine, stress, constant wi-fi obsession...You find time to enjoy simple things, reading and listening to yourself. A...
Read moreInconvenient location. While the houses are cozy, tastefully furnished, but price is too high for what you get .. Some sort of nonsense with breakfast which costs 5 euros. For those 5 euros you can choose something from the menu, where everything costs about 3-4 euros, and you'll get coffee or tea. But if you dont eat a breakfast, coffee and tea you'll get for free. Nonsense. We slept here for two nights, but after the first night they moved as to another room. Girl administrator told us that we should be grateful, because we have the opportunity to sleep in the room of the owner. Really ??? With a bunch of strange man personal things? All of this would not be so big problem for as, but usually when I tried to ask for the breakfast, the girl was so arrogant and disrespectful ... Unfortunately, the owner was even worse ... I do not know the reasons for this unpleasant and inhospitable behavior, but its not normal, its really hard to understand... Ten years I'm working in service area and I have my own business, so I know what is decent, appropriate communication with the client. I have never experienced such terrible communication! We wanted to run faster out there ... And the owner leads yoga...I come here for that..But this place is really not about yoga and not about love for human beings!...
Read morebooked this place on airb&b as it was advertised as "spacious designer villa for 6" the photos looked very good. first of all whoever took the photos for this place on airb&b did an amazing job taking them and making this place look good cause it did not look anything like the photos. i its in a field and about a 7-10 min walk away from the beach. its completely open plan no windows or doors. the curtains had stains. everything was rusty. the beds were super thin mattresses and on a wooden beds. we expressed our concerns to the lady who checked us in that we paid €217 for 3 nights in this place that looks nothing like the photos, she wasn't very helpful and begin to get very defensive so we asked her if she could contact her boss to try resolve this issue as we paid a lot of money for a place that was not worth this price. she walked off and never returned to us. so now its left in the hands of airb&b to try resolve as none of the staff or the...
