Gili Turtle Beach Resort — Hotel in Gili Trawangan

Throughout our stay we had to endure the following...||• The pillows/ duvet covers smelt of wee and were stained||• We only got provided with 2 minuscule bars of soap for 3 nights ||• Not enough toilet roll||• No clean towels provided ||• Rubbish not cleaned out of room after the room had been ‘cleaned’||• Poor hygiene in the room and kitchen/ restaurant area - LOTS of flies ||• General uneasy atmosphere in the hostel||The worst out of the lot of them was the fact that each of the 3 nights we found we had no running water. On each occasion I had to ask the staff twice to come and attend to it after they failed to come the first time - instead I found them messing about around the kitchen/ bar area. To add to this, on the last night, there was a power cut in our room at 2 am meaning both me and my friend had a very hot and sleepless night. We received no apologies for either situations. ||Please also note the rooms only provide saltwater meaning face and teeth had to be cleaned with bottled water. This place is cheap but is 100% overpriced for what you get - we have been staying in hostels while in Bali/ Thailand/ Cambodia and this is hands down the WORST one out of the lot of them. Terrible! I was so excited when I looked at this resort on google, but when I arrived it looked nothing like the picture I saw. The other thing that makes me mad was they didn't tell me that due to idul fitri I wouldn't get my breakfast. They told me that after I did my payment (breakfast included). I asked for a refund, but they said they can't do that so, I asked for something and they offered me pancake and else. I got the pancake at 10 am, it's too late for breakfast, and i already had my breakfast before they gave me the pancake.

My room smelled bad, my AC was broken. They said that the freon was broken. The only question I had was, why did they give me that room if the facility is broken? After 30 minutes, I asked to change my room, they gave me a new room that didn't have any difference with the previous one. The AC was still broken, the room smelled so bad, the floor was REALLY dusty. They also didn't get me a towel so, I had to take it in my previous room.

I wish that I had a great experience in Gili Trawangan, but because of this bad experience, I can't enjoy my day at...

It was a simple yet somewhat comfortable for a 2-night stay on Gili Trawangan. The place is nearby the hectic side of the island, with bars and shops offering water sports activities and bike rentals services. The facilities however can be maintained further to make the guests feel more welcomed. The water pressure and the salty tap water as well as the on-off wifi connectivity was the downside of this establishment. All in all, I think it is still good for “value for money” kinda place to stay on the island with nice location, helpful and friendly staffs and decent choices of breakfast.
