Having planned to celebrate a special occasion during my stay at Jakarta, it felt like a very lukewarm experience as the initial service provided was not up to a DoubleTree brand standard.
Firstly, the check in process was smooth and efficient. As a valued Diamond member, Stefanie escorted us up to the lounge to do our check in formalities there as it will be a more relaxed environment which we appreciated. Check in was done smoothly by Dian and she explained the different facilities in the hotel and the timings to look out for.
This is where things took a turn for the worst. We got the corner room which was good as it was away from the elevator and a slightly bigger layout. The walkway from from the main entrance door light was also not working and the wardrobe lighting was so dim it was hard to see. The room was slightly dusty and we felt that the room was not properly checked before we were assigned the room. I feel as the highest tier member, extra effort should be provided to us.
Thirdly, during breakfast we thoroughly enjoyed the different food offerings at the restaurant and it felt nice being able to try different cuisines such as Indonesian and Western. Quality of food differs during the days but the spread of food was vast so you wouldn't have any problem choosing what you want to eat. One slight problem we felt could be improved was the placement of your tables for the diamond members. The first day when we went for our breakfast, we were placed all the way to the end of the restaurant for our breakfast. We also noticed another diamond member at the corner. I felt that as diamond members, we should have a dedicated area which is nearer to the entrance so that we could fully enjoy the breakfast experience and also the staffs at the restaurant could be more attentive to our requests if any. Being placed at the corner, it was hard to get the attention of any staffs.
Fourthly, I had communicated multiple times on WhatsApp to provide me with 3 towels daily and to replenish my bottled waters to a specific amount daily but there was a lapse during one of the days. I felt like a small note could be done in the morning briefing of the housekeeping team which could resolve the trouble of getting the Housekeeping Manager (Dimas) from personally delivering the items to me. I would also like to thank Aurora for listening to my concerns and swiftly getting the different departments to solve my issues in the room. Raden who also communicated with me on WhatsApp also help to solve the multiple issues in the room.
Finally, the star of the hotel, the ones who have been helping us out alot during our stay and the ones who really treated us well and the ones who actually made me rate the stay as 4 stars instead of 3 stars. The Concierge Team. Whatever you need, whenever you need things, they will be there always ready to assist you. Ahmad Faisal, Ihsan, Indra, Shosa, Fadhil and Dito. The overall star I would have to commend would be Dito of course. Prior to even reaching the hotel, Dito has helped me out with multiple request such as restaurant recommendations and bookings, looking out for the Whoosh train ticket availability, providing us with different recommendations on places to visit or food to try which was located near the hotel and even ensuring my requests for transport were prepared so that we would not have to wait long at the lobby for the transport. He was also the only one who managed to fish for more information from me regarding my stay and wished me happy birthday during the day itself which I felt was touching as he bothered to ask and connect with his guests. The concierge team also provided a snack for us to bring back home which I felt grateful for as it shows that they are the ones who cared for us well and they truly go above and beyond their job to ensure the best for the guests.
Overall the stay was still enjoyable and would definitely recommend staying at the hotel again. Don't forget to find the concierge team if you need...
Read moreThe location is very close to Cikini station. From the road to the lobby is quite high. Famous for being a child-friendly hotel because there is a kids club, the swimming pool is like a resort because it is very spacious and unique. The hotel is crowded even though it is a weekday, not only busy with business but also busy with families on vacation. There are some hit and miss services even though the hotel is good. Thanks to Hilton Honors Gold, our room was upgraded to King Executive Room Lounge Access and late check-out until 14.00. Cookies were not given, had to be aksed even though the people next to us were given them immediately. The room is not too spacious and quite compact, there is a bed with 4 pillows, if I'm not mistaken the size is 180x200 with a sofa bed and table, along with a comfortable work desk and chair. Welcome amenities are provided, tarlet, lapis legit and macaroon. The interior is a bit dark color. The room view is city view Jakarta. Wifi and TV are smooth, no problem. Mineral water is provided 2 bottles of 330 ml. Tea uses Dilmah, coffee uses Nescafe sachets. The bathroom is without a rain shower. Amenities use Doubletree standard, crabtree and evelyn in a dispenser model. Hotel facilities include a nice and spacious resort-style swimming pool, kids club (slightly smelly but quite spacious), a spacious and complete gym, and a bar. The downside is that if you go to the swimming pool, kids club, and gym, you have to pass the bar, which smells a bit of cigarettes. Then at the edge of the pool at that time there were duck floaties. I thought it was really good that the hotel rented free floaties (it was indeed raining at that time), after using it for a while it turned out to be paid, finally the hotel asked for it to be returned, fortunately it wasn't charged. (the writing said it was secured because it used chalk, it was afraid it would fade). We enjoyed afternoon tea served as canapés, tuna sandwich, chocolate sauce, tomato mayo sandwich and tartlet. It tasted quite good. For evening cocktails, there were juices, fruits, cheese, nuts, salad, raspberry tart, mango lamington, broccoli soup, bread, Briyani rice, cauliflower zucchini, chicken saltimbocca, salt and pepper seafood. It tasted delicious. The breakfast conditions were very crowded and uncomfortable, because the tables were very close together. The queue conditions were chaotic and many foods were empty, some were not refilled. So at that time I was queuing for the specialty menu at that time, which was salmon teriyaki. There were 2 left, one had been ordered by someone else, the other should have been me, but my queue was interrupted and taken by someone else, I told the staff that I am next in the queue but still give it to that person, he said he would just make another one. I waited for 30 minutes while eating other food, went back to the counter and was told it was not refilled and no more was made and replaced with seafood fried rice. It turned out that there was a sous chef who saw that I was a bit disappointed, he promised to make salmon teriyaki. Finally I got the salmon teriyaki. The taste of other food was quite good, there were also many choices Menu: Egg station, potato, tomato, burrito, bacon, sausage, bean, oatmeal, waffle, pancake Noodle station, Indian food, beef stew, fried rice, Hokkian noodles, chicken porridge Stir-fried green beans, braised tofu and tempeh, chicken curry, rawon, fried liver sambal, black sticky rice Fruit, cheese, nuts, cold cut, salad, yogurt, pastry, bread, donut, ice cream, coffee, tea Specialty menu, Thai tea, green tea, Thai coffee, honey, dried...
Read moreChoosing Double tree Hilton- Diponegoro for our event in Jakarta contributed hugely to the success of the training that I organized.|Security- I was surprised with the level of security the hotel provides. Even upon entering the premises, the guards open the trunks and check the cars plus there is a scanner for the items/guests/staff in the entrance.|Check-in- one sign of a great hotel is that they don’t keep you waiting and I’m glad that check-in was super smooth and that staff was readily waiting to help us with our stuff upon arrival|Room- I love that the rooms were bright and beds were heavenly. The room size was quite big that we can even fit the portable cot of my babies. It was a nice touch to welcome us with cute candy and the elephant towel thing. I just didn’t like that we can hear it when people slam their doors especially at night.|Food- I love that there are multiple options and anywhere we dine, it was always a great experience. The staff was warm and welcoming, ready to help us with anything we need. The food was also really good that we only ate out once during the one week we stayed in Jakarta. Desserts and drinks at The Koffee were a stand-out!|Pool- beautiful pool with Bali vibes|Kids club- my babies definitely loved playing there during our stay. They had the place all to themselves most of the time during the week so they had a blast playing to their heart’s content. It was decorated cutely and it was perfectly sized for kids of all ages.||I would also like to highlight and thank the event manager, Stephen Ericsson Chen, who exhibited the gold standard on professionalism and customer service. I have worked with so many hotel staffs over the years, and I can say that he is one of the best. From the start of my communication with him, he was always extra. I asked for details of the hotel, and he provided it quickly, with photos included! He replies to my emails fast and even set-up a meeting with me despite that day being a holiday for him. He also executed all my requests flawlessly and was quite flexible to last-minute changes. He also went above and beyond his work when he went with us to the hospital when my baby got sick. He arranged for car service, paid for it personally and served as translator to the hospital staff. He stayed with us until we were cleared to go by the doctor even though it was already quite late. My husband and I appreciate that so much! We had such a memorable experience in Double tree Hilton-Diponegoro that we keep on telling colleagues, friends and family to stay in the hotel if ever they...
