Good food, nice place. This place located on the second floor of Metropole XXI cinema complex. You can take the stair from the back, elevator also available. The Metropole complex itself is a historic site, as it is one of the oldest cinema theater goes back to the 30s. So the building itself is very interesting with the art deco architecture style, hard to missed if you trying to find this building. If you go from Cikini station direction, it is in your left side, around 100m from the station. The restaurant, I would describe as a good place to take your foreigner guest to experience Indonesian food. The food is proper, most of it is pre-cooked, so it is kind of a fast food, but the taste still good. Wide variety of food offered, from Nasi Rames (rice with topping of your choosing), assorted soups (Soto Betawi, Oxtail soup etc), noodles, and also traditional snack and dessert also available. The place quite big, I would estimate around 200 pax could fit inside. It could be packed with patrons on weekends and around meal time. Roemah Kuliner doesn't have anything special in their menu that will make you always want to come for their foods, but, because this place is so comfortable, you will want to come here for hanging out. Moreover, because it's located above Metropole XXI, you can come here to wait and eat before your movie time arrive.

Roemah Kuliner mostly serves common Indonesian's cuisines, especially Jakarta's that you can even find literally at the sidewalk of the road, such as Mie Ayam, Nasi Goreng, etc. I personally like its Asinan Betawi, which is no longer easy to find in Jakarta and Es Teler Bandung for the beverage. Even though the taste are not the best, both taste nice and delicious.

The ambience is lovely. I really like spending some in RoemKul. The selections of food, drinks and snacks are quite many. One best thing about this place is the foods are all MSG free and fresh. Therefore, the prices are pretty high. You are required to deposit some money into a card that you can use to pay for your orders. If you still have some amount left, you can cash it out on the same day. FYI, if you deposit 100thousand, you can spend only 90thousand as the remaining 10thousand is for the card. Nevertheless, when you cash out the remaining amount on your card, you will get this 10thousand back. Oh, almost forgot. The prices stated on each of the money is not included taxes yet.
