Hello Sunday Metropole — Restaurant in Jakarta

Had afternoon tea/coffee and dinner with some friends here.

Really love the balcony area; it’s so pretty with all the greenery. Too bad it’s a smoking area, otherwise the balcony is a perfect spot for mini party on a day. Surprisingly not so many mosquitoes at night, but we moved indoor for our dinner at 8PM since too many people smoked outside. Place is pretty cozy outdoor/indoor.

Drink was okay. But I’m not so satisfied with my food. I ordered a fish fillet (it’s dory) with cheese dressing served with some kind of baked potato. MAN, the fish was funny and a bit bitter. Tried the cheese dressing, it was okay. The batter covering the fish, it was okay. So yeah, the fish was not that fresh.

Pasta aglio olio was okay, perfectly cooked to my taste, but could use a little bit of salt. I personally think that the main dish selection was not so appealing. For pasta, they don’t even serve the basic bolognaise/carbonara. I hope they improve the food selection and taste.

For the service, they have friendly and proactive staffs and trainees. Also the toilet is supper nice and clean.

Still, will give the place another visit, but definitely never gonna order anything with...

Hello Sunday is a delightful culinary gem nestled next to the XXI Metropole. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes that tantalize the taste buds and leave you craving for more. Eventhough this place is located inside a building (metropole main building) at the second floor, I always find this place is packed especially during lunch and weekend. With an outdoor (allowed to smoke) and indoor dining area, this place was quite cozy. Not very spacious though.

One of their specialty is their 100% arabica coffee from all around Indonesia. You can choose either from their manual brew or espresso bar. I personally enjoyed their signatures which are iced white coffee and iced malaka coffee (45k). To accompany the coffee, they have varieties of desserts and light bites such as cake, waffle, croffle, fritters, and many more.

I tried aglio olio spaghetti with smoked beef and mushroom (70k) and basmati green fried rice (85k) for the main course. They were delicious! The smoked beef and chicken were made from scratch which is awesome. Unfortunately not for the croffle. I tried the original for 42k and not quite worth it, too bad.
