Old hotel, established in 1971 if I am not mistaken... the interiors are so javanese, the furnitures, the roof, the pillars, the paintings, you can also find gamelan set it the lobby area. Honestly, everything looks so grand and luxurious, if you went there several years ago. In my point of view, a bit renovation will beneficial to add some modern touch in the already traditional ambience.
Also, while in the morning and afternoon everything looks fine, when the night comes the atmosphere can be a bit scary since the lights are too dim. I am wondering though, why they are not investing in white bright lamps in the lobby? Are they not fit with the javanese theme of the interiors?
We were spending a night here for vacation. The affordable prices, the excellent review in Google, and the facts that this hotel is strategically located and labeled as a 4 star hotel make us interested to visit. Some reviews also stated that HKC serves the guests with great hospitality. During our visit, I experienced kind services from most of the employees, however, the receptionist who greeted us when we are checked in can be more welcoming and more friendly. At least, please tell us that some of the lifts next to the receptionist area is not working, so we dont have to wait. At night, around 10.30 p.m. room service also cannot be contacted, so our request for additional mineral water cannot be accommodated.
The room where we stay is quite big, totally worth the price. The bed is big and comfy, the tv, lamps, refrigerator, ac, water heater, etc works perfectly. However, they can invest on some air refresher since the room smells so "old".
Overall, with the price you pay, the facilities you...
Read moreI would rather rate it 3 star although it is a 4 star hotel haha. The positive things are: they have a beautiful lobby with low light, and old fashioned decorations, I like the way they combine modern and old fashioned together, there are 2 fraky statue outside but I find it very interesting. Thr evalator have a comfortable smell like cofffe, I like it. Now for the negative sidea, their front desk are nice, but we can not exchange currency in here for some reason. The room are just okay. By default, they set the temperature too low, me and my colleagues feel very cold (we are at different room). When I walk into he room the television auto turn on and run sth with music and I keep listening to that theme song over and over. The bathroom lacking of glass for you to brush your teeth I have to take a cup in he living room for this. Also, there's light in he right corner that I can't turn off. They say they not responsible for thing. lost in he room since the roo. dont have safe and if you want to keep sth precious you have to go to front desk to ask them to keeep it for you (bad servives), the decorations in the room quite old seem like they don't...
Read moreTraveled on business trip and stayed there for 7 nights. ||Pros: Strategically located in Gatot subroto which is one of the business hub in Jakarta with most of the banks and telcos having offices in the area. ||Great Breakfast options- both English and local varieties||Decent room size and amenities ||comfortable bed & pillows||Cons: May be it was a great hotel once upon a time but as of now hotel lacks maintenance ||During my stay i found sauna was out of order and lacks maintenance||* Most disappointing was gym. Considering i am a fitness freak my top priority is Gym & fitness center for any kind of travel. When i reviewed KC Gym online it was exciting and decided to book it. However, after landing at their gym i felt i was cheated- all they had a treadmill, one equipment and few dumbbells. Extremely disappointed. I had confronted their front desk team about such poor gym facility which they acknowledged. ||So please upgrade your fitness center and equip it with what you have sown online for...
