Kohai Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Jakarta

Well I have found this place from my girlfriend’s tiktok 😄 Japanese food always have a special place in my heart so that’s why I wanted to try this out place. Little bit difficult to find this place as it is located inside the street but thanks to google maps 🙏🏾

Parking - 8/10

Have their own public parking with good staffs to guide us in parking. But little bit small and really difficult to get a place during peak hours.

Ambience - 7/10

Nice almost cozy but the interior little bit old and some wooden works are broken. Should focus on renovating it.

Now without any delay let’s get into the food 😃😋

Food - 9/10

Salmon Sashimi - 9/10

Freshness is the key in this menu and it literally melted 😋

Salmon Aburi Mentai - 9/10

Worth the price!!!

Crab Uramaki - 8/10

Not really a big fan of uramaki but this one quite good to try.

Prawn tempura - 8/10

Truffle Gyu Teriyaki - 9/10

This is the best for me in this restaurant. You can feel the beef with little bit sweet and it did really a magic in my taste buds. MUST RECOMMENDED MENU!!!

Apart from the above tried edamame and it’s pretty normal like elsewhere.

One more good thing in this restaurant is SERVICE. The service is really good and the staffs are very friendly and this is really important for the repeat customers.

Only one suggestion I have - Please improve on the serving time. I understand that every food is being prepared fresh but I have waited around 20 mins to get my appetizer which is really a hands down. So please improve on this part alone.

All was perfect. We tried omakase, let the chef choose your menu and told you the story of each food. Incredible. It is called "i trust you chef". There was 13 set, including appetizer and dessert. It's really worth it. I even did not want to take a video on the main course session when the chef served and told you about the food, i did really enjoy it. The food all were perfect. It costs around 400k per person. Very reccommended. Omakase menu will give you seat at the bar table.

In other weeks, i also ordered a set menu, two times.. which was also so delicious and more cheaper, this one less than 150k per person. Happy tummy, happy soul :)

It says that you need to book/do reservation before you come to this Japanesse resto. I've never done it, but I came here earlier before 12 on weekend and just wait till it open. I was just lucky 3 times to get the chair...
