I moved in here with my dog in January and stayed for five months, having paid in advance.
The rooms are beautifully furnished, and the large pool is fantastic. The lush garden and thoughtful landscaping create a very cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive – they were honestly the main reason I ended up staying for such a long time.
However, there were a some issues during my stay that were either not addressed or only partially resolved. When it rained, the windows and ceiling in the living room and bathroom leaked, often leaving the rooms flooded. The walls are not isolated, so you can hear everything from outside, which can be disturbing.
The water pump often failed to work properly, resulting in low or no water pressure – making showers quite frustrating. While the Wi-Fi worked well in my room, my neighbor had almost no connection at all.
As for the management: the two staff guys on site are doing a great job and are in my opinion the only reason the place still functions.
Unfortunately, one day when some workers sent by the management came to repair the roof, a personal item of mine went missing. When I informed the management, no one took responsibility – I was constantly redirected to someone else and in the end no one addressed the issue. Instead of offering solutions, I was given excuses and ultimately nothing was done about the stolen item.
In the final two months of my stay the owner of this place began to complain that my dog was barking. It’s important to note that my dog is a young puppy, and it is natural for him to bark occasionally – for example, when I would leave for 15 minutes in to get breakfast. This only happened a few times, maybe three or four in total. The barking was very quiet, and after speaking to other guests, I found that none of them were bothered by it.
One day while I was not at home the owner apparently entered my room without my permission and attempted to catch my dog in order to calm him down. He later told me that my dog had tried to bite him and called him aggressive and dangerous.
To clarify: my dog has never attacked or bitten anyone. In fact, the staff regularly fed him by hand and were always kind and affectionate with him. If someone has no understanding of dogs, it’s not appropriate to make false accusations. The way this situation was handled by the owner was highly unprofessional.
What I find most concerning is that someone would enter my room without my knowledge and try to handle my dog instead of simply calling me – I was only two minutes away at the time. Shortly after that incident, I received a message saying that I had to remove the dog from the premises immediately, by the next day. I was even threatened with police involvement.
There is absolutely no communication between the owner, the staff, and the management – no one ever seems to be informed about what is actually going on here and no one want to take responsibility. This lack of coordination caused a lot of confusion and unnecessary stress.
I even considered leaving earlier to avoid the drama, but the management insisted on a strict no-refund policy.
To summarize: if a place advertises itself as pet-friendly, it should be understood that a dog is a dog – and dogs do dog things. Taking full payment in advance and then later complaining about a dog’s natural behavior is, in my opinion, not acceptable.
Likewise the management should take full responsibility when workers are let into a guest’s room without permission or even prior notice and personal belongings end up missing.
Also When I brought my things to my new accommodation at the end, there were already new guests checked into my villa, even though this place was still booked on my name for 2 more days.
With new management and proper communication this place could truly be a wonderful hotel. But as it stands, I cannot recommend it for a long-term stay – especially not if...
Read moreAwesome value - Beachfront Villa
We arrived for a 16-night stay at a spacious villa, depicting extravagantly manicured grounds on a black sand beach. The villa arranged for our transportation to and from Bali with an excellent driver and new vehicle!
The villa came as described, minus a few cosmetic deficiencies such as washroom mirrors, bedding and towels in need of a refresher and one bedroom ensuite was lacking in continuous hot water! There are loose tiles around the pool which is more of a cosmetic issue as well.
The villa stay is without a doubt awesome value and the staffs contributed to a most enjoyable stay. Kadek and Made started off the day with a cooked breakfast consisting of fresh juices, fruit and choice of hot or cold fare which required choosing the day prior.
Lunches and dinners could also be preordered – we did take advantage of dining at the villa on at least half the nights, with Kadek being an excellent chef. The dishes were tasty and the convenience of dining either on the upstairs terrace or the front patio relaxing and romantic!
Kadek booked scooters, and fishing (We caught Mahi Mahi and Barracuda which Kadek prepared for dinners) – Staffs would send out laundry at a very reasonable price.
When the sea was not angry the beach was excellent for swimming and walking. On angry sea days the pool was an excellent substitute.
Our only regret is not staying longer
Thumbs up to Endi for his dedication to the gardens and fixing a loose screw on reading glasses!
Cheers to Made and Kadek for their personalized and hospitable dispensation, it was indeed a pleasure to have spent...
Read morePros: Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly receptionists that then offered us complimentary mocktails. Complimentary decorations on the bed. Pretty! The building is new so it was lovely and nice. I initially thought sleeping in a wooden building will make me sweat but there is an AC and a fan. Perfect! Large bathroom. LOVE the smell of the soap. Large towel the size of a beach towel. Much needed! Lovely views to the pool from the bed. Swimming pool!
Cons: Biggest downside that the owner should be aware of and make changes to the room: there are crevices on the side of the room between the brick walls and the wooden wall, so privacy is a big concern! Luckily I had a large piece of cloth to block the holes so the guest on the other room can't peep inside. But please, do take this as a consideration as this is very crucial! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Rooms are not soundproof. Since my room was on the first floor, i can hear the guest on the second floor stepping on the wooden floor. Quite annoying to hear at night.
Other than that, lovely stay! Would come here again (please do fix the crevices...
