Melasti Beach Bungalows — Hotel in Kecamatan Abang

We fell in love with this place the moment we arrived. The location was perfect, with the beach right out the front & fantastic views of Mt Agung out the back. The bungalows are beautifully decorated & has two balconys, with one overlooking a beautful serene garden & the ocean & the other overlooking the majestic Mt Agung. The owner Missy, has set this place up with love & it shows. She couldn't do enough for us, making sure we had everything we needed & telling us about places to see. Nothing was too much trouble & she was available at all times without being intrusive. The homecooked meals that Susi prepared were absolutely delicious & the portion size very generous. So much so we ate there every night during our stay. There are plenty of warungs to choose from a short walk along the beach or Missy can arrange transport. Missy also arranged massages at the bungalow which I had laying on the comfortable day bed to the sound of the waves. Missy's husband Komang, took us out on his boat for a Sunset cruise, which included snorkeling off the boat & was a lot of fun. We loved waking up in the morning & watching the sunrise either from our balcony or sitting on the beach. The accomodation doesn't have a pool, but with the beach on your doorstep, (which you have virtually to yourself), & is very safe to swim. Missy is a super host. She is very familiar with the Amed area and she or her extended Balinese family can assist you with many activities such as hiking, fishing, scooter rentals, boat and taxi transfers or anything else you can think of. She is a one stop shop. The food offered at Melasti Bungalows is delicious and tastes even better when you can enjoy it on your own private balcony overlooking the beach. Thanks Susi for cooking up such great meals, there wasn't one we didn't enjoy. The bungalows have great views, the ocean in the front and the volcano in the back. There are two balconies to enjoy both views. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfy. The grounds at the bungalows are beautiful, you can enjoy them close up from your own private daybed/sitting area on the lower level. Our bungalow was beautifully decorated with real attention to detail. We caught a Mahi Mahi one day and Melissa had it cooked into two delicious meals while we there, just an example of the personal touches you might enjoy during your stay. All the staff at Melasti are so pleasant and helpful. If you are pining for a pet fix, Missy's two dogs will certainly entertain. Melasti beach bungalows is simply the best place to stay in Amed. The bungalows are beautifully designed, clean with lovely bathrooms and there is also a fantastic suite upstairs in the main house. Missy takes great pride in her house, bungalows and especially her beautiful garden which is like an oasis. You basically have the whole beach and sea to yourselves, it’s paradise. From the back you have spectacular views of Mt Agung, so an incredible location. The breakfasts are fantastic, we had the eggs, omelette and pancakes and recommend them all. We also ate dinner there one night which was excellent as well. Missy is a tremendous host and she makes it very easy for you to stay in Amed. We went scuba diving ( we were given lifts to the best places) and went to the temple and water garden, all arranged by Missy who has the best drivers in Bali. Missy also arranged restaurants for us, even telling us which table to sit at to get the best view of the sunset! Unfortunately my son had really bad tonsillitis while we were here so Missy also arranged a doctors visit and wrote down the medicine that he needed.
