Milla Homestay — Hotel in Kecamatan Sidemen

We stayed at Milla Homestay and it has been one of the highlights of our trip! The room was basic but really comfy, and a fan which worked wonderfully and we both slept like babies-such a lovely bed! We also had a little porch with 2 chairs and table, where we sat out w a few bintangs and listened to locals practice music! It’s location is great really so convenient. The restaurant offers very affordable food and has a lovely view. However the most special part of our stay at mills was the Canang Sari ceremony and I would recommended it to everyone! Omang, the daughter of the house was our guide/teacher and she was brilliant! It was a really unique and special experience learning how to make the beautiful offerings and take part in the traditional ceremony in the family temple- and we also learned so much about Balinese life and culture, plus we had so much fun! The family couldn’t have been more kind and helpful! We wanted to extend our stay in Sidemen but as Milla were fully booked we moved to a different homestay nearby. We were walking back there after the class at Milla and I was afraid of the dogs on the street near our new accommodation so the Milla family drove myself and my partner back to the other accommodation just out of the kindness of their hearts. We didn't stay but my and my bf went there for a massage. And unfortunately I can't recommend this place. My bf said his massage was fine but I was messaged by the young lady who had no idea what she was doing... She was just copying her mom ( I think it was her mom) and she started to laugh during the massage, also as she was scratching me with her nails 😅 worst massage I had but okey lesson learned. Also the owner tried to trick us with the price of cooking classes. He said to us "I'll give you a special price because you had a massage and a dinner, for you 500k per person" and we saw on a price board that the price is 350k per person (same price as everywhere else). When we said to him that we saw the real price so what the hell... Then he started to make up quickly some story that the price on the board is 350 but only when there are more people in a group bla bla bla ... We went somewhere else and paid 350 per person and it was amazing and very professional. So please be careful when you go to Milla home stay as if you will get to talk with the owner he might want to scam you. We spent 3 wonderful days at Milla Homestay and were absolutely satisfied with everything.

The property is beautiful, with a lovely garden and a newly built dining terrace. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had both hot and cold water. The WiFi worked perfectly throughout our stay.

Our host was incredibly kind and spoke excellent English, making communication very easy. There is also a restaurant at the homestay where we dined twice, and both meals were delicious.

Breakfast is included in the price and offers a variety of choices: omelets, scrambled eggs, or pancakes, served with coffee or tea and a choice of fresh fruit juice or a fruit salad.

The room rate was very affordable at 200k IDR per night.
