Personally I loved it! All of the staff is amazing at Hotel NEO which really made my stay memorable and worthwhile. Gek Mas at the front desk was soooo kind and helpful and was so quick to coordinate help right away when I had a couple of issues with my room shortly after checking in. She remembered my name too and greeted me whenever I came back to the hotel which really went above and beyond. And she even gave my room a call to make sure things were okay the next day. The breakfast is great –– wide selection and a buffet style which makes it easy and very filling no matter what you like. The pool is very large and nice as well, if even it is the same level across the entire pool. Not many guests swim in it, which I found a little odd since it's so nice and has that infinity feel (see the pictures others post) I didn't have an issue with noise at all as other reviewers had mentioned, by Sky Garden, the usual culprit of noise pollution was closed during my stay. Again, I loved my stay, and will be staying again very soon next time I'm in town! Couple of downsides / things to keep in mind though. Pool closes at 8pm! Kind of lame, but I understand. I did also understand what many reviewers said about the relatively thin walls. I could hear conversations when my neighbors came back to their room. I also read a review that said the AirCon's are hit or miss –– I think mine was kind of miss since I had to have it run 24/7 at the absolute lowest setting and highest Turbo speed and my room never really got below I'd say 21 deg C. Also no matter what setting I put the minibar on, it never got even somewhat cold, which was kind of disappointing since even my super budget hotel before hand got icy cold. Also, my room had a huge ant problem when I checked in (which the staff took care of IMMEDIATELY, otherwise it would have been really bothersome). The rooms, or at least mine, could have benefitted from a deep cleaning as well. The baseboards along the walls were really dirty and even the trashcans had caked-on dried stains. The hotel is also right off Legian, which gets insanely busy all times of day, which makes it hard to GRAB or GoJek (Rideshare apps) and you can't go two steps outside the hotel without being asked to rent a motorbike, buy some overpriced knock-offs, or get scammed one way or another Did these downsides make me second-guess my stay? No absolutely not. Again I loved my stay and it's the first place I booked when back in town for a few days. Comparatively speaking to similar hotels in the area, even ones that are rated higher overall, I just loved how nice and accommodating the staff is, and how amazing the rooms are, especially with all the natural lights and...

Read morePossibly the worst hotel I have stayed at. When checked in they gave us the key and expected us to just know how to get to our room. We hd to ask how to get there. The room was small and the noise was insane. We lasted one night in this room and the next morning we paid for an upgrade asked for a room where we couldnt hear music playing until 3am. We got another room and the only difference was this room had a balcony (if you could call it a balcony) could only fit a mini chair on it. Could not relax on the balcony like youd expect. We heard music every night until 3/4am. Dont expect to get any sleep. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and loud! Could definitely hear if someone was awake in the room next to us. The first set of bedding we had was stained. The food was great and cheap. The staff were friendly. On our check out we asked staff to order us a taxi but they advised us that they had there own taxi service and said that it would cost us 30AUD to get to seminyak. This trip should cost a maximum of 8AUD. We advised no we will like to catch a taxi. This caused a problem for them so I decided to just try out the app “grab” we were able to find a driver to pick us up and take us to our new hotel for 2.70AUD! However, the hotel does not let any other transportation companys e.g taxis, uber or grab pick people up from there parking lot! So we had to walk with our massive suitecases down onto the main road and get our grab to pick us up from there! I will never get a room here again! If you want to be able to sleep....
