My husband and I wanted to go somewhere on our honeymoon where we could unwind, relax, and decompress. We stumbled upon an amazing deal through luxury escapes for The Anvaya Beach Resort and the reviews looked amazing so we booked for 8 nights. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
We were greeted by a private driver who packed our suitcases and offered us bottles of water. The drive was about 10-15 minutes from the airport. When we arrived at the resort, staff kindly took our luggage and we checked in with a welcome drink. The receptionist explained our inclusions and gave us a ticket for the vouchers and after checking in, we were taken to the arrival lounge to await our room to be ready. There were complimentary drinks (hot and cold), finger foods, comfortable lounges, and a TV to keep us comfortable while we waited (about 15 minutes). When our room was ready, they directed us to it and our luggage was already awaiting us in the room.
We had the Premier Lagoon Room and it was clean, spacious, and included everything you'd need, from toiletries, teeth cleaning kits, shaving kit, hairdryer, sandals, dressing gowns, safe, water, kettle, cups and a mini fridge with drinks, chips and chocolate which was restocked daily for free. They has also included a cushion on our bed saying "Happy Honeymoon" and a bowl of fruit and each night we'd get a dessert. The first night, it was a chocolate cake with a Happy Honeymoon chocolate plaque, which was very sweet!
All the restaurants were amazing! We had lunches and dinners at The Sands Restaurant, and the food was delicious and the serving sizes were so big! The service was 10/10 and all the staff were so kind and lovely. As were had vouchers, we were given a limited menu to pick from when using the vouchers but it still included so many options. We were also able to get 2 courses using the voucher which my husband and I would split as the servings were so large and they were so accommodating and allowed us to do this and share. We also had breakfast every morning at the Sands buffet and it was so incredible! They had such a huge variety of foods to choose from and made coffee, eggs, and juice to order. Everything was amazing and delicious!
The Kunyit Restaurant, which is the traditional Indonesian restaurant within the resort was also amazing. We had dinner there a few nights and each night they would have traditional performers come and play music and dance. One of the staff would explain the background and meaning of each performance beforehand which we loved. Again, the food and service was 10/10!!
We spent most days by the pool, drinking cocktails, swimming, and relaxing. The staff were incredibly attentive, kind, friendly, and remembered us after only meeting us once. They would walk around checking if you needed anything to drink or eat and would bring your order right to you as you continued to relax. The pools were clean and had staff continuously picking leaves and flowers out of it to upkeep it. There is also the Pool Bar, which makes incredible cocktails and you can order food from. They also made a cocktail for us that wasn't on the menu, but after showing them the ingredients, they were happy to make for us.
We had 2 full 60 minutes massages each included in our package and OMG, I was in heaven! My husband is not the biggest fan of massages but even he enjoyed our couples massages!
My husband also organised a romantic beachfront dinner for us which was so beautiful. Ayong our server set it all up for us with rose petals and made beautiful hearts and rings on the sand for us. He stood about 20 feet away from us the entire night and if we needed anything, he was right there to help. We had a 5 course meal and it was all amazingly delicious and we felt so special. It was so lovely!
We can't wait to return one day, we really loved it so much and would recommend this beautiful paradise resort to anyone looking to travel...

Thank you for responding, but I must clarify the following points to ensure future guests have an honest understanding:
✅ Room Change Was Requested Because the First Room Was Unacceptable Yes, I requested a room change — after being taken to a dirty and improperly assigned room (not matching my confirmed preferences). The connecting door was one issue, but so were the hygiene and the unclean state of the room, including stained sheets and mold. Let’s not twist the timeline: my requests were made after problems began, not before.
📸 Photo Evidence – Still Waiting at 5 PM I have added photos showing that I was still sitting at the reception area at 5 PM, long after the official check-in time. It wasn’t until I sat down visibly frustrated that anyone took further action to get me a room. Until then, it felt like no one cared that I had been waiting for hours. This does not reflect professional or caring service.
⚠️ “Do Whatever You Want” Was Said – and It Was Rude I absolutely stand by my statement. Whether it was said calmly or not, it was an unacceptable response to a guest voicing serious complaints. Dismissing a customer this way — especially after multiple room issues — is not hospitality.
🔑 Key Card DID Stop Working Before 11 AM Whether or not your system recorded it, I was locked out at 10:40 AM, with luggage still inside. I had to ask for help to get back in. If your team unlocked it for me, it only proves the issue did occur.
👕 Ironing Service I never asked for paid pressing. I asked only for an iron, which I’ve requested at many hotels without issue. I was simply told “none available,” not that it was a safety or policy issue. Again, not the service expected from a 5-star property.
🥴 Stressful Experience You mentioned “flexibility and hospitality” – but the overall experience left me feeling frustrated and even physically unwell. Your team may have followed procedures, but they failed at delivering the promised level of comfort, respect, and cleanliness.
This hotel may work well for some travelers — but that was not my experience. I hope this clarifies the situation for others reading this. ⭐ 1-Star Review Title: Do NOT Trust the 5-Star Rating – Worst Stay in Bali!
I stayed here in June 2025, expecting a luxury experience. What I received was unacceptable, unhygienic, and extremely stressful — the worst hotel experience I’ve had anywhere in the world.
Here’s what happened:
Check-in was a 2-hour mess. They moved us from room to room, ignoring my confirmed request for a king bed on the upper floor. I was treated like I had no booking at all.
The room was filthy. I found:
Stained mattress and bedsheet
Hair on the mattress
Dirty cups and kettle
Mold near the bathroom pipes
Dusty and dirty room corners
I had to clean the room myself before using anything.
When I raised my concerns, the Guest Relations officer said “do whatever you want.”
I was locked out of my room at 10:40 AM before checkout. The hotel said “checkout is at 11,” even though their website shows 12 noon.
I asked for an iron to prepare my clothes — they refused, saying it was “busy.” I had to check out humiliated and in wrinkled clothes.
The food was terrible. Breakfast was too salty. The pizza fell apart. A waiter even spilled our drinks.
I left the hotel with dangerously high blood pressure, full of frustration, and completely disappointed.
This is NOT a 5-star hotel. I stayed in multiple hotels in Bali — this was by far the worst in service, hygiene, and staff attitude.
⚠️ Avoid this hotel if you care about cleanliness, service, or...
Read moreI had booked my clients - high profile Doctors and their family at Hotel Anvaya for 1 night - 3premier rooms from 12 to 13th MAY. Around 9pm, guests complained to the hotel management about non-functional AC's. After 2hours, hotel sent a technician to their rooms to check the AC's and he could not fix any of them. Hotel then,in the name of "upgrade",offered one suite room with a condition that the room can be used by 2guests for only sleeping while their luggage should be left in the premier room.Other 4guests had to spend the night in non- functioning AC rooms. Guests could not sleep the entire night and were throughly upset with the kind of "upgrade" provided. The hotel management, including Ms.Ayin Purwati(Resort and Service Manager)showed no remorse, or full accountability towards this matter. Infact, attitude of the hotel management, especially is Ms.Ayin is so condescending that she could not even apologies or sent a proper apology note to the guests!
Being a 5*,hotel staff is not equipped to handle and resolve simple matters and the management, especially Ms.Ayin , is a misfit in service industry due to her arrogant behaviour! Please think wisely before booking this hotel. There are plenty of hotel options in that area. Would surely rate this hotel below zero!
Ms.Ayin, This is the response to your revert. Firstly, I must say you are very good with the choice of words. You exactly know how to swipe matters under the rug. As a 5* hotel, the least your staff could have done is shift the guests to other rooms, rather than having a technician called middle of the night....This is common sense and does not require so called "learning experience". You should have given the guests a choice to decide whether they wanted to continue keeping their luggage in premier room and sleep in suite room. Again it a matter of common sense or you definitely had other vested interest. Your apology letter/mail/response nowhere holds you 100% accountable, it is filled with lame defensive excuses. We have already shared the video of the clients, shot at Hotel Anvaya, after your Guest Relation team met them, where they have expressed thorough disappointment of their experience with your hotel staff. Kindly have a look at the same before drawing your own fancy conclusions.
It is your choice to keep defending rather than owning up complete responsibility. As mentioned on my personal email to you,I will make sure that my reviews reach maximum people, travel agents in India,...
