Absolutely our favourite place in Bali. The crepes I got only cost 45k which is just under $4.50 AUD. I couldn't even buy an iced coffee in Aus for that. And here I get crepes that look and taste delicious. It's pretty hard to be upset by that! There is some noise as they are on the road but we can still talk and have a good time.
Food - while I've seen people say portions are small for the price I really can't agree with that. For me the portions and price matches really well. The price includes tax which makes it even better. The wrap sizing is amazing! My partner eats a lot of food and the wrap filled him up ! We both also agree we'd rather spend extra to get more then pay for a large portion we couldn't even get half way through. On top of that, the food here is always beautifully presented and tastes amazing. I've never had a bad meal her in the last 2.5 years.
Coffee - easily my favourite coffee in Bali, is not overly sweat and you can always add extra if you want. Plus the beans they use ar delicious. My partner and myself both love the coffee here. We also had oat milk in mine as I'm not the best with full cream. And I'm excited to see more milk options have been added to all coffee places in Bali especially here.
Service and staff - the staff are amazing. We couldn't come back for a while and they still remembered us. It was beautiful for us to hear how well they have been going lately. I couldn't imagine more deserving people of a successful cafe. All the staff here truely share the happiness and amazing service standards as when we were here 2 years ago. Only great leaders that care can do that.
Overall - we love this cafe, the food, the atmosphere and the people. We are so happy to see them having success and we hope people give this cafe a chance. They really do have amazing coffee and...
Read moreSmall, unassuming, right on the side of the road. My sister recommended this place and the reviews overall are great. This will be no different.
Hands down this is one of the best Nasi Gorengs I've ever had. At only 48,000rp it was perfect for lunch. I couldn't get a picture - I was enjoying it far too quick.
My wife also got an Oceanic Salmon (pictured, as she had more restraint than myself) for 75,000rp and was very pleased as well. I've seen comments saying portion sizes aren't big enough, but at this price point I think the servings are incredibly generous. Additionally, as the owner has mentioned in review responses, the prices listed are EXACTLY what you are charged (meaning no 21% plus plus like the majority of places you'll visit).
Finally, a previous review mentioned that Living Tree should have milk substitutes. To try this out my wife and I both asked for oat milk drinks (an iced macha and a vanilla milkshake) and I'm pleased to say that both were available and fantastic.
Our total bill was 204,000rp.
10/10 - will be going...
Read moreA star is born. The living tree is a wonderful slice of Indonesian food, charm and wonderful service wrapped up in a little slice of heaven. I went their for breakfast and was met by the amazing Nera. She greeted me like one of the living tree family, just wonderful. Now I know most greetings in Bali are nice but hers was genuine and from the heart. We had a quick chat about her story and she has the experience and knowledge to push this restaurant to one of the biggest trees in a forest of restaurants in Bali. Adit had just started work as a junior in the restaurant. I could already see under Neras teaching he will also be a super star. Well done Adit. My daughter and I both had eggs. She decided on eggs & avocado on toast, I had scrambled eggs . Both were great. My Bali coffee was the cream on top, perfect. All staff were happy and helpful only too willing to answer peoples food requests . From my observations all food looked as...
