Malibu Steak ‘n’ Pizza Terusan Kawi — Restaurant in Malang

We came here for the pizza because of the review on the internet about 10 best pizza resto in Malang. Unfortunately, when the waitress came to our table to take order, she apologized that pizza could not be served that night because the oven pizza chimney was wet due to rain water. What?? Lol 🤣 Oh well, maybe they need do adjust the chimney to an elbow shape/curved, so the opening is not facing the sky. Or design a cover/small awning over the chimney. You can google search how it looks like.

Anyway, so we ordered snowy tenderloin steak (beef steak with mozzarella cheese over it), salmon steak and lasagna.

The steak is not as good as we are used to in Jakarta or Sentul. I mean, it is not as tasty as expected based on our tastebuds. There is no additional sauce included in the snowy tenderloin steak. The mashed potato texture is like clay and the taste is like those instant mashed potato powder. My son said I made better creamy mashed potatoes. He had the salmon steak and I took a little bite and it tasted quite nice. The butter garlic is nice. The lasagna is just OK. Still below our tastebuds level. I think the béchamel sauce needs more seasoning, not exactly sure what. Maybe more Parmesan cheese or some oregano, or something. Sorry, this is an honest review because maybe because we’ve been to other steak restos in other cities to make this comparison. The interior design is vintage. Lots of old pics of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. There are approximately 12-15 sets of tables.

Parking is available in front of the neighboring stores since they are closed, whereas the space in front of the resto only fits for 2-3 cars. Overall, I think it’s too pricey for a standard taste (according to our tastebuds). Other people might have different...

Malibu Steak 'n' Pizza has been serving European cuisine for some time. It has been admitted that steaks here are great. Coming through the entrance door, we will be wecomed by a friendly waiter. The atmosphere of the room is warm with yellow dim light and oldies pin-up posters on the wall. The seats are wide and comfortable for diners. Some tables in the ground section were arranged for couples or small groups and some are for bigger one. Coming up into the upstairs, we can see long dining tables that makes it perfect for families or birthday celebration. Going a bit further, a cozy balcony with wooden floor invites diners to have breezy cheerful dinner with friends. The other night my family was celebrating my sister-in-law 15th birthday. We were having delicious salad, steak and some pasta. Latte, frappe, and milkshake were also ordered to give the delicacy some smooth push through our throat. Only the closing time kindly asked us to get up from our seat and brought home...

Nice place for a good steak dinner in Malang. Bad management organization.
