The worst service I have ever experienced. Do yourselves a favor stay anywhere else but here. There are so many nice villas and hotels around for the same price and even less with such a nice staff and management.
Our experience: You pay for your food at the end of your stay, they calculate everything and tell you a total sum to pay. Several times throughout our stay we asked and reminded for separate bills. At the end of our stay they show us a total sum for us to pay together without any breakdown. We asked for a breakdown so we can pay separately and we discover they put someone else’s bill on our tab. We resolved that and then were told we have an extra charge for our snorkeling trip (we asked our boat captain to drop us off at Nusa Penida instead of lembongan after our snorkeling trip he was much obliged and said no problem! No mention of an extra charge whatsoever and even offered to pick us up) when he picked us up the boat captain ONLY THEN informs us he would like 400k extra for us to pay him personally. I reasoned with the captain and he agreed that it wasn’t right to try to charge us without telling us beforehand that he would charge us. So he said we don’t have to pay anything and apologized profusely and even took us back to pos manis on his motorbike. I really appreciated his honesty and still gave him money for his time and for being fair.
As soon as we got back to the hotel, the manager tells us we need to pay him personally 200k for having the captain drop us off at Nusa Penida, (mind you not 400k like the captain wanted to charge us lol) I explained I already paid the captain and he said oh okay. But then at the end of our stay as we are checking out the manager tells us to pay the 200k again. I tried to explain “sir we already paid the captain and I explained this upon our arrival from the snorkeling trip already.” He cut me off and said no we must pay and after going back and forth for a while he finally called the captain and reluctantly agreed to let us not pay as a “favor”
Our room was on the other side of the villas with many stairs and my friend had a bad knee and we were both worn out. We kindly asked if they could bring our luggage to the front. The manager kind of looked at us like we were crazy and said there is no one to bring it till later so if we want someone to bring our belongings we will have to wait. No problem. Eventually two of our bags were brought to the front and as our shuttle is just around the corner to take us to the boat I realize that one of our large bags was not there. I asked him about it and he said “Go get it yourself”
To my delight on the shuttle ride to the boat I notice a lovely farewell departing gift underneath the handle of my luggage. Someone’s freshly chewed gum smeared across the handle. Delicious. Thank you Pos Manis for such a pleasant experience :)
To the rest of the staff that works there, I very much appreciated you and this review is not on any way directed towards you. Suksma for everything, the food was delicious.
My humble opinion, until the manager is not removed from his position, I believe you will have a much more enjoyable and pleasant...
Read morePoh Manis's describes itself on TripAdvisor with "an exotic backdrop for travelers looking forward to escaping to the tropical beauty of Nusa Lembongan, our resort offers tranquility and peace..." That statement couldn't be truer. Its ocean view rooms offer spectacular picture opportunities as the sun rises. The place is incredibly silent and serene, just like your own paradise up in the mountains. ||||Some complain about the 15-minute bumpy ride up the mountain. To get such a view, you gotta drive up the mountain. There's no way around it. In my opinion, it's completely worth it. Upon arrival, you're treated to chilled orange juice with syrup, which is an absolute godsend after the bumpy ride up the mountain in the sweltering 34º heat (which is 93º Fahrenheit for the Americans). ||||You can request for an extra bed to be set up if you have 3 guests, but the corner they set it in is full of mosquitoes (which I had the unfortunate experience of being in). However, I had a gecko come in during the night and get them off me, so my hat goes off to that gecko. ||||The hotel staff prepares a lovely intercontinental breakfast as well. The traditional Balinese coffee is extremely authentic and although bitter, is very refreshing. The hotel also offers free transfer to and fro the port and city. ||||Now onto the issues. ||||I understand that the hotel is up in the mountains and is exposed to nature, but the pool felt like a sauna instead of a pool, so please install some sort of cooling system. Also, room 14's AC unit is installed directly above the mosquito net, so all the cold air wasn't getting to cool the room, therefore making it a sauna inside. My family and I had to dismantle the mosquito netting to allow the AC to do its work. @Poh Manis management, please fix that issue. ||||A friendly suggestion here: maybe you could place a few of those lemongrass incense cones that smell good to repel the mosquitoes? That would really help, and make the room smell nice too. ||||But overall, a lovely experience and an amazing stay at Nusa Lembongan. Would...
Read moreWe had high hopes for this place based on the incredible pictures, and we were not disappointed. The view really is that good and the infinity pool that is instantly visible in incredible. ||John, the chap that manages the resort, is a great guy, happy to help whether it be small or larger requests.||The rooms are clean and tidy, with an outdoor shower/toilet area and balcony out the front (with incredible views if you get the ocean rooms [there are 2]).||The breakfast is great, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The resort offers moped hire for 80,000IDR a day (roughly £4) which is a must. You don’t have to be a great rider, but the roads are a little bumpy.||To address some of the more negative and frankly trivial reviews I’ve read about this place;|1. Of course the roads are bumpy and it is a way from the town - to have a view like this and the silence that you get you have to be a way away. Even though it is actually only a 10 minute moped ride to the main area of lembongan|2. This place is cheap to stay at. For what you get, it’s a damn good price. For those saying that it’s not spotless/there’s holes in the mosquito nets etc. Get some big spray or pay more for a spotless hotel (not going to happen on a remote island in indonesia)|3. From our experience the kitchen were fine with ordering, they always read your order back to you. The breakfast is ample e.g. two pancakes, a smoothie and tea/coffee, or bacon, eggs, half a tomato and a toast. Again, if you can’t hack that stay somewhere else||I Would without a doubt recommend this place to anyone that wants a peaceful stay with amazing views and a brilliant pool! Value for money and location are it’s key attractions, along with fantastic people...
