MAJA Canggu — Hotel in Pulau Bali

The style of instagram worthy shared villas is becoming evermore popular in Bali. They rely on being as picturesque as possible, perhaps at times at the expense of service, comfortability and practicality. Maja achieves the balance perfectly, reflecting the service expected of 5 star accommodation with plenty of smiling, helpful staff based in the communal kitchen. The rooms are of a similarly high standard to the exteriors, and offers roof space to enjoy the fruit salad breakfast with a tea or coffee, which are available to make at your leisure. Of course, the shared nature of the accommodation relies on the four other bedrooms maintaining the relaxing, calm atmosphere, which is referred to in a warm, welcoming video from the owners. Maja is an exceptionally beautiful boutique stay located in the centre of Canggu, with everything you need right on your doorstep. Everything about Maja is well considered and feels luxurious at an extremely reasonable price point. There are large supermarkets, ATMs, excellent restaurants and beach clubs a stone's throw away.

The villa itself looks even more beautiful in person than photos and is extremely well maintained by its WONDERFUL staff, who went above and beyond to ensure I had a comfortable stay. I also had the pleasure of briefly meeting Marie & Jake during my time there, who were both so lovely, welcoming and hospitable.

I am stoked to have had the pleasure of staying at Maja for the last leg of my trip in Indonesia, and hope I'll have the pleasure to revisit...

My wife booked this boutique resort and it was beautiful. I'm not one for fancy resorts but it was beautiful. Very "Instagram" worthy but the staff were so caring and helpful. The rooms were very clean as was the communal shared zone (which is where the staff often base themselves). We had a late flight and staff went out of there way to help us get on the flight, store luggage and even offered a spare room to take a shower in before flying out. The location is ok if you have a scooter or taxi but it's a little far from the beach to walk conveniently. Great coffee around the corner at Miel (best in Bali). Higher end price for Bali, but...
