I checked out 12 Urban Cafe recently, and honestly… it was just okay. The place looks nice—modern, minimal, and definitely Instagrammable—but in a way that feels kind of generic. It’s one of those cafes that’s aesthetically pleasing but doesn’t really have a wow factor.

Food-wise, it’s decent but not mind-blowing. They have a solid variety—brunch, seafood, desserts—but nothing really stood out to me. The oyster promo is a cool concept, but the rest of the menu is pretty standard. Also, for the price, I expected better portions and flavors. It’s not bad, just not memorable.

The vibe is alright, but since there’s no stunning view (no rice fields, no ocean, just a regular street), it doesn’t feel like a place you’d go out of your way to visit. It’s a decent spot to sit and chill, but nothing that makes you think, “I need to come back here.”

I absolutely love Urban Café 12! My go-to dish is the ORZO shrimp 🦐 🍝🥹🤌🏼because the cream sauce is just divine — and trust me, finding real, high-quality fresh cream in Bali is nearly impossible. I’m extremely picky when it comes to dairy since I’m French and my father is from Normandy, so I grew up with the very best products. This one is truly outstanding.

I also order the salmon steak very often — the quality-to-price ratio is excellent, and it comes with perfectly crunchy vegetables in an absolutely delicious sauce. To go with it, I always take the carrot juice : it’s made with a real cold-press juicer, so it keeps all the nutrients, and it tastes naturally sweet without any added sugar.

The atmosphere is wonderful, with fans to keep it cool, and it’s even a great place to work from. Tonight I brought my dog with me 🐕 just perfect! Sometimes I come here for breakfast or lunch, but most often I come in the evenings just for these two dishes I can’t get enough of.
