So, I find myself at Zai Café, right?🥘🥙🍚 It’s this spot that’s a bit like that friend who’s traveled everywhere and insists on showing you all their holiday snaps. The menu’s a bit of a global tour - you’ve got your Mediterranean here, a bit of Middle Eastern there. It’s like they’ve spun a globe, chucked a dart, and gone, “Yep, we’ll serve that.”
Pros, With a Side of Snark:❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
• World Cuisine Without the Airfare: It’s like they’ve pinched the best bits from every culture’s cookbook. You can’t decide if you’re more in the mood for something that’d make a Greek grandma proud or a dish that a Lebanese uncle would nod approvingly at. Either way, you’re in for a treat. • Décor That’s Trying a Bit Too Hard: You look around, and it’s as if a hipster’s dream Pinterest board exploded in here. But, you’ve gotta admit, it’s got a certain charm. The place is stylish in a “I didn’t even try” kind of way, making you feel like you’re dining in an art gallery where the chairs might just be part of the exhibit. • Service With Personality: The staff are so darn nice, you start wondering if you’ve accidentally joined a new, very friendly community. It’s the kind of warmth that makes the food taste even better, if that’s possible. • A Steal That Feels Like a Heist: The value you get here is unreal. It’s like scoring a luxury experience at bargain bin prices. You leave feeling like you’ve just gotten away with something, patting yourself on the back for being such a savvy diner. • The “Wow” Factor: There’s something about the food that makes you pause mid-chew and ponder life’s greater mysteries. Each bite is a revelation, making you wonder why your home cooking never quite hits these heights. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a moment of enlightenment, seasoned perfectly with a dash of humor.
In a nutshell, Zai Café isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a whole vibe. Whether you’re trying to impress a date or just looking to treat your taste buds, this café delivers. Just remember, if you leave without cracking a smile, you might want to check if you’ve still...

Inconfortable chairs. our chair were way too low. We had the table at shoulder hight almost. Not super comfi.
The service was terrible.
1- We arrive et 3 min after, while we are looking at the menu someone else come and ask are you ready to Order! No we are not, we are waiting for our friends.
When we arrived they told us that because the restaurant was so busy we could have only 2 hours. But when we left, 2,5 hours later the restaurant was not full at all. Why would you say this if the table is not reserve after?
We all ordered. Got our appetizers not at the same time but was ok. Not so bad.
Then my friend got her pasta…. Finished it and, got it cleaned and then 10 min after we got our plates. In that king of restaurant, you should know better. I dont mind when this happens in warung small restaurant. But not if you asked. You asked us how to serve it. And we told you. Appetizers first together and then we eat the main together.
The meat was too cooked., the Turkish pizza chicken haloumi had not taste and almost not cheese. Not sure where was the chicken neither.
The best was the dessert. Napoleon! We got it for free because we wanted 5 min for our side. We appreciated the gesture but they never saw that one of us finished eating when we didn’t even had our plates.
The Pinot Noir La Crema that is sold 30$ CAD is sold there 240$ CAD 🤨😤 8x the price. No ! A glass of wine is serve so little for 110 the glass.
Anyway, not sure we...
Read moreZai Café, Canggu: Classy café by day, swathed in Mediterranean romanticism by evening. Zai Cafe is simply stunning. This is a grand accolade especially for any F&B entity in Bali as competition bar is perched so impossibly high – you must get the interior styling nailed, you must have food with flavours head and shoulder apart from others, your ambience must score high in the score cards. Service must be warm. Zai Café scores a few, misses the taste mark slightly. Our food line-up included scallop on a shell with mango and green oil. This platter was so beautiful, we almost didn’t want to mess it up. Green oil was ingenious, but the mango sauce seems unnecessary. Moussaka is a must, by our books. There’s something in the yoghurt that transforms the otherwise humble dish. Tagliatelli with tuna tartare, creamy pesto with fresh truffle would have been superb if the pasta didn’t clump together (a little oil should do the trick). Nonetheless, the taste profile was good. Another brow raiser and never seen before dish was halloumi, beautifully plated on a round bed of watermelon with berry jam. We just didn’t get how each element would become bedfellows. Soon, we grew the halloumi and watermelon combination. We had superb, standout, warm and sweet service from Leoni, who even arranged a birthday blowout with a sweet treat of napoleon cake. Head-turning presentation, some bold dishes – albeit some missing the mark, fabulous service make Zai Café a standing ovation....
