Having been in Ubud a few times with the help of Air Asia's promotions, Prasanti Bed and Breakfast is definitely on top of my list for accommodation in Ubud. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise that not many people have reviewed it that I got to stay here in such a busy tourist season. Or perhaps it's because most of the guests are Japanese, the same nationality as Ms. Azusa - one of the owners- that's why only 4 reviewers so far. ||||Though those who wish to stay in "the center" might not look at this place as their favorite, the shuttle service provided by the family solves all the worries. Going to the open-air performance at the palace at night is just fine. Walking to town is also very possible. With green environment and all the shops on the main road, the walk is not that long nor unpleasant. One only has to negotiate 2 very small uphill walk. It's not far from Sri Ratih Cottage - about 10-15 minute walk from there. Around Prasanti, there are a few beads work shops and plenty of restaurants, including an Indian vegetarian. To go to nearby town like Sukawati and Gianyar or to spend the day at the busy Kuta beach etc. you can easily be dropped off and picked up at the public bemo or Perma bus stations by the shuttle service.||||The room here is so spacious - about 40-45 sqm, not including your own big balcony. With the room being cleaned and beds being made up everyday, this must be one of the best budget accommodations. Coffee and tea with a big flask of hot water are provided. Breakfast is wonderful on the balcony. A small fridge or what's called an "ice box" is very handy to cool your BinTang. Wifi is also available all day and late at night. ||||Though there's no aircon, the big ceiling fan is more than sufficient in an evergreen and lush environment. Actually it could be a bit nippy at night and this is July! Bali is never that hot anyway (well - comparing to Bangkok)||||The cocks do crow in the morning as this is the local residential area where every household raises their chicken and maybe pigs(?). "White", the house dog can also be excitable some mornings. However, the morning sound is not so loud that a pair of earplugs cannot remedy. ||||This is the place where you stay in the same compound with a lovely family who will help but not intrude. Having stayed here for 8 nights, I felt safe being alone without the usual bunch of friends. Can't...
Read moreThis is a budget accommodation. I enjoyed my experience and found it good value. ||||I had the garden view room ground floor and the outlook was beautiful and scenic, including a very nice breakfast on the balcony made by Azusa (the Japanese owner) who is very welcoming and polite.||||The bathroom was clean, well lit with plenty of towls and good toilet.||||This is Ubud so neighbourhood morning roosters crow but it's too be expected.||||The bedroom is very spacious and I was quite happy with the pillows provided. Mattress was clean, on the firmer side but not hard. I prefer a softer mattress but was quite okay.||||The highlight undoubtedly for me personally however was "Shiro", the accommodation and Azusa's pet dog. After arriving and unpacking, as my girlfriend and I left the accommodation, Shiro excitedly took us on a tour of the local area. We found a lovely little cafe for cake and drinks, with Shiro politely resting beneath our table. He clearly makes an impression on other guest as I had seen photos of him prior to my stay also.||||Only downside was an external light that shines light into window onto the bed where your head would be. For sleep quality potentially quite problematic but it's easily fixable by the management with a different light fitting. As a guest I managed to arrange the bedroom blind to partially block it, while additionally hanging a bathroom towl off the end of the curtain rail did the trick.||||Would...
