I had a great time staying there!
Room 5/5: It’s a room with great natural lighting. I stayed at Valley Pool Villa and the closeness to nature was really relaxing. Every thing was clean. Ants, lizards were present outdoor which was natural. Shower was strong. The only thing that I really wish was better was the pool’s temperature. It wasn’t just simply a bit cold, it was very cold. You hear people screaming from their villas when dipping into the pool which was quite funny.
Service 5/5: in terms of concierge request handling on room request, transportation arrangement, attitude and professionalism. All great.
Food 4/5: I only stayed for breakfast. It wasn’t buffet style but order to be made. I ordered the western choices. Quality was fair.
Spa 1/5: The ambiance, view, temperature were all awesome. It was just that none of my muscles and my partners’ were relieved given they are using 20% of the average pressure of any massages you experienced. I already requested for hard pressure for a Balinese massage and gave them a second chance for a deep tissue massage. It was very weird and felt like I spent a whole hour just to get massage oil rubbed on my skin with the little pressure they used. This was the biggest let down given spa is feature in the resort name.
Location 5/5: In between Tegalalang Rice field and Uber centre gave us enough to do for a two nights stay. Traffic to and from ubud centre ranged from 15 mins to one hour depends on the hours and your luck. Not much great restaurant around but Grab food is available which opened up options for us to try some local food conveniently. We went to the Manuaba Waterfall which was one of the best experience we had in Bali because it was 15 mins from hotel through nice rice field drive and there were no tourist and was extremely peaceful which we swam in the water.
It was a special peaceful cozy hotel with villas of great view and location. I would recommend it...
Read moreThe hotel is a great choice for people who are used to live surrounded by insects and reptiles (mostly geckos and medium size lizards). I completely understand that the hotel is located in front of the jungle, surrounded by lush nature, and thus it is expected to encounter some insects and reptiles in outside areas. However, I can’t accept from a 4-star hotel which costs 150-200 euro per night to offer villas/rooms where geckos/lizards and other insects can enter whenever they want, regardless if you keep every window and door closed… The construction of the villa allows, by design, such animals to enter from the roof! For me this is not acceptable, as I don’t feel comfortable and secure sleeping surrounded by lizards at night… just to be more precise, we booked for 8 nights and we ended up leaving from the hotel after the 5th night. Every night, we were lying down on the bed in order to sleep and on top of us we were watching lizards strolling around. It’s amazing to be in front of the jungle and to enjoy the nature, but when I am about to sleep I wanna feel secure!
P.S 1: We changed villa and we had exactly the same issues… the problem is by design and is definitely not related with a specific villa/room! After that I decided to leave from the hotel in the middle of the night!
P.S 2: They denied to give me a refund back because my reservation was non-refundable. That’s why I want everyone to be aware of this and avoid loosing money and energy in case that he/she doesn’t feel comfortable living in an environment like that.
P.S 3: Apart from that the hotel is very nice! We enjoyed the views and the nature around! Common areas are beautiful, well maintained, food is decent, massage is good, the hotel staff is very friendly and kind (something quite common for Bali though)! I would recommend it if you don’t care about what I...
Read moreLocated in Ubud, Bali, this resort is definitely a hidden gem. The entrance to this hotel is very unassuming, but once you enter the driveway, the mood changes instantly from the busy-ness of the street to serenity of the nature. Upon entering, you are welcomed by friendly staffs, calming Balinese music and complimentary refreshing drink. This place has less than 30 rooms total, so privacy and quietness are of no concern.
Pros: Location: about 1-2 hours drive from the airport (depends on the traffic), but at the heart of Ubud. About 10 minutes drive to Ubud center where you can find plenty of restaurants and shops.
Service: impeccable!! The staff are friendly and courteous. The hospitality is genuine and not pretentious. They make us feel as if we are part of the Tejaprana family.
Room: big and spacious with your own private pool and bathtub. We booked the valley view, so we are treated with lush green valley from our room. The private pool is about 2x3 meters and 1.4 meters deep. A perfect size for you to relax in the pool while enjoying the view and having floating breakfast.
Food: breakfast comes in set and not buffet, however the serving size is quite large. There are about 4-5 different sets that you can choose. The food is delicious and freshly made from the kitchen.
Cons: The toilet has no door, so no one can use the shower or sink while you are doing your business. Well, you can if you are really comfortable with the person.
If you are visiting at Ubud, you should definitely consider staying at Tejaprana. Our experiences there still linger in our memories weeks after our stay. We will definitely be back...
