Could be a long story for you but it’s reality!

We planned our visit to ubud bali and booked gantari and paid hefty amount by looking the pictures of room and reviews. But what we experienced after reaching here was nothing less than nightmare .

While resting out, realised there’s a big sized ant on the bed (Just right next to my face) we immediately called the staff and they said will change the bed sheet and stuff . We were a little disappointed but agreed with it as since we booked a pool villa and it’s outdoor , it’s definitely expected to receive ants and other insects. But on the bed (That was a shocker) . Guess what, the very next day it was a spider in the room . Time midnight- almost 1:30AM . My husband got furious and quickly visited the reception and they mentioned they will spray hit (midnight) . We denied for the spray as I have a serious sinus and bronchitis issue hence my husband said no for spray but asked for proper cleaning in the morning. We went for some activity and instructed the staff to clean room carefully. Third day - in front of staff members big sized ant was walking on the bed yet again. Thankfully, we made all videos for evidences. (You need it? We are ready to share with you)

Now, we received as an option for compensation in against a of their big blunder with customer’s life was - Floating breakfast or snack/dinner .

Floating breakfast- oh we could have cherished that as for memory , but we denied. Why? Because the private pool was not maintained and we could see lot of small insects inside . Hence keeping in mind the fact about hygiene we denied. Dinner - We denied as our all activity days, included the dinner already in our package hence it was not required.

We asked for refund at least a some portion of it - Now the reality of gantari in customer dealing comes here - First they started saying wrong statements or false blames on us. Second their supervisor named “VALEN” behaved with us too toooo badly .

We walked in the hotel after activity and asked for a simple clarification on their false blames on us - She started howling on us saying “Believe in Karma” and what not,

Imagine their response even in hospitality industry .

Phew !!! That behaviour made us furious, she was proud in saying all things badly to us and continued for a long in that argument .

While you can see other reviews and get attracted to the property , I will still suggest to not book their rooms . You can find any other property in the same rates . Customer Service Matters, even with no solution , customer dealing is hellllll important...

I recently had the misfortune of staying at Gantari Ubud in Bali for two nights, and my experience can only be described as a horror story of epic proportions. Almost every aspect of my stay was marred by issues, and I feel compelled to share the depth of my disappointment.||Upon arriving at my much-anticipated villa, I was met with an immediate letdown. The pool, a supposed highlight of the villa, was far from clean. The water, rather than inviting me for a relaxing swim, repulsed me. It was evident that the pool had not been cleaned properly, if at all. This blatant disregard for basic cleanliness and hygiene standards was not only disappointing but also a clear breach of trust.||In addition to the unclean pool, the absence of hot water in my villa and subsequent deceitful room change to an executive room further compounded my misery. The staff, instead of rectifying the situation, callously shifted me to a different room, promising a refund for the inconvenience caused. However, when my stay ended, they conveniently reneged on their promise, offering a 5% refund that didn't even come close to compensating for the ordeal I endured (which they haven't paid yet)||Furthermore, the location, though quiet, proved to be a logistical nightmare. Situated far from the city center, it was impossible to explore the area without a personal vehicle. This vital piece of information was conveniently omitted during booking, leaving me feeling isolated and trapped.||To make matters worse, the lack of staff presence after 11 pm, coupled with the absence of hot water, made my nights unbearable. One particular night, when I desperately sought a hot shower, I was left stranded. Despite my calls for help, there was no one available, leaving me to endure the discomfort until the next morning.|In summary, my stay at Gantari Ubud was a series of disappointments and deceit. From the unclean pool in the supposedly luxurious villa to the absence of basic amenities and the staff's lack of integrity, every aspect of my experience was tainted. I urge anyone considering a stay here to reconsider. The sheer disregard for cleanliness and guest satisfaction, combined with the deceitful practices, make Gantari Ubud a place to avoid at all costs. My hard-earned money was squandered on an experience that was anything but luxurious, leaving me deeply regretful and utterly...

Gantari Villa – A Hidden Gem in Ubud’s Quiet Embrace Tucked away in a peaceful corner of Ubud, Gantari Villa is a wonderful find — close enough to the main town for convenience, yet far enough to feel like a true retreat. After a day of adventures, it felt lovely to return to such a calm, cozy space. 🏡 The Villa & Room: Spacious, warm, and inviting. The room was large and comfortable — perfect for relaxing, even if you decide to stay in all day. Everything feels new, which adds to the sense of comfort and freshness. 🙋‍♀️ Service & Hospitality: It seems the entire team is quite new, and while some details were missed (like an empty soap bottle or the occasional missing bath mat), the staff’s sincerity and effort were very evident. They’re learning and growing, and it shows — in a good way. A little grace goes a long way here, and in return, you’ll feel genuinely cared for. 🍽️ Breakfast: Limited options, but for a good reason — they focus on reducing food waste, which I truly respect. Within those options, the flavor didn’t disappoint. I especially loved the Gado-Gado breakfast — my first time having it in the morning, and it worked surprisingly well! A small suggestion: rotating one or two items daily would add variety for longer stays, while keeping the sustainability ethos intact. 💛 A Thoughtful Touch: We had to leave at 2:30am for a sunrise volcano tour, and the team kindly packed a breakfast box for us. Many places would’ve just written off the included breakfast as “forfeited” — but they went the extra mile, and that gesture was truly appreciated. 📍 Location & Accessibility: Quiet yet accessible — perfect for those who want peace, but also the ease of Grab rides and food delivery. Very convenient without sacrificing tranquility. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who it’s for: Ideal for couples, solo travelers, and small families. It strikes a lovely balance between comfort, care, and peaceful charm. ✅ Would I return? Absolutely — 100%. With time, I believe Gantari will only grow more polished and loved by many. Wishing the team all the best as they continue to blossom.

Good location map wise (especially for those who drive scooter), Though, minus star for neighborhood. !! While booking, ask reception to dedicate room further away from school. Yes! Next building from the hotel is school. So despite lovely sounds of birds and gekos, on weekdays you’ll hear very active children sounds. And that’s non stop during a day time ;)) You can hear this on video posted. If have option - choose 1st floor - w access to the pool. Sometimes you might hear sounds from local temple close by. Trust me - you’ll love all. Isn’t that’s what we came to Bali? To feel it. Not only taste or see. Really lovely staff (as in most places of Bali), Pay attention to notes by doors and in bathroom re cleaning / do not disturbing. And feel free to inform staff when you don’t want your room to be cleaned, or only towels to be changed. On 2025 they spoke fluent english. Clean pool, lovely yard, Rooms looks bit outdated, though clean and very spacious (and that’s a big plus for hotels). Coffee is not for europeans ;) - recommend to either order by grab, or go have breakfast in one of plenty fantastic places in Ubud. Friendly price.

First Things First the rooms are large, clean and modern. The pool was cleaned daily. The week i was there it was raining cats and dogs but the cleaning staff were on their duty to make all the guests comfortable.Front office staff were Fantastic.Special mentions to Valen and Gustra. The Hotel is situated right in the heart of ubud. All your activities start from ubud.If you stay in kuta, seminyak, jimbaran, dua etc it adds an easy 1-2 hrs of extra travel. No Mosquitoes were found in the property.I was about to leave to singapore and suddenly realised that my russian vaccine wasn't accepted for a VFTF and i needed a pcr test and it was already 10:00 pm here in bali.I approached them asking for help for which within 15 mins there was lab tech at the lobby waiting to take my swab.By the next morning the result was ready printed and was handed over to me during the check out. Finally Great Staff, Large Modern Rooms,Close to activities and affordable pricing make this hotel a must stay if you are in bali.A 5/5 for me.Definitely coming back next year.
