Gastronomic review of Tembaga: a sublime experience for the senses
Rarely does one have the opportunity to enjoy a dining experience as flawless as the one offered by Tembaga. From the very first moment, we felt embraced by a warm and elegant atmosphere, where every detail is carefully crafted to make guests feel truly special.
And the food? Simply spectacular. Every dish we tasted reflected an absolute respect for the ingredients, executed with finesse and precision that only top-tier establishments can achieve. The ingredients were natural, incredibly fresh, and handled with a delicacy that showcased both tradition and innovation. The flavors were harmonious—bold when necessary, subtle when appropriate—a gastronomic proposal that speaks for itself.
But if the food was exceptional, the service was nothing short of outstanding. Here, we must give special recognition to Yasa, our attendant for the evening, who turned our dinner into an unforgettable experience. It’s rare to find someone with such professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. He guided us through the menu masterfully, always with a smile, always anticipating our needs. Yasa, you are a true artist of hospitality!
And to top off the evening, we had the honor of speaking with John, the owner, who shared a truly fascinating proposal with us. His passion and expertise in creating this space are evident, and his vision of what a high-level dining experience should be is absolutely on point.
We enjoyed a magnificent evening, in every sense. A feast for the palate, the soul, and the senses. Tembaga is not just a restaurant; it is a sensory journey where food, service, and ambiance come together to create a perfect night.
We will return—again and again. Bravo, Tembaga! Bravo, Yasa!...
Read moreSuch a hidden gem! Loved our find.. It has so many sections and each one just mesmerising.. We started with the sunset bar, where you had such an expansive view.. we couldn't stop taking photos here.. then with suggestion from the lovely staff there, we went to check out the water warung..you go down a bamboo elevator, walk quite a bit, crossing a river over bamboo bridges and more stairs to reach the location which is simple breathtaking,.had it not been so late in the evening, we would have just jumped in .. we got back and ordered drinks and food, both of which were bang on lovely.. would highly recommend the chicken satay and sweet potato fries. .the atmosphere at the sunset bar was great, just watching the sky turn different hues. . Want to thank all the staff esp Rini for her lovely service and helping us enjoy our time there. We then headed over to Tembaga, with its beautiful bamboo structures and sustainable design (we sat on a table made of recycled chopsticks).. again the food was just delightful..they started us off with complimentary shots and a yummy assortment of fried leaves and bitter gourd.. so many dishes I would recommend - grandma soup, mushroom ceviche, probiotic chicken with black garlic sauce. Overall, amazing place, with thoughtful sustainable architecture in a beautiful blend with nature, accentuating its beauty.. Would definitely love...
Read moreI always love being seated at the long table as we have had large group dinners which was designed for John Hardy and having all the fresh vegetables as part of the decor is beautiful while dining after sunset. The fried bitter gourd starter is so addicting I can devour it all myself and not want to share! This time I ordered new dishes I had not tried previously. The Grandma's soup was a hug in a bowl, simple ingredients but comforting even when you are not feeling well. The catch of the day was a decent portion with a delicious sambal dabu-dabu that went well. If you enjoy more of a kick, you can always order the sambal platter and have that with the fish too. My friend had the delicious gnocchi and fried mycelium, bone marrow and local avocado. Of course I stole a bite :)
The ambience is always serene and make sure to grab sunset drinks at the sunset bar further beyond the pool, as the vibe there has always been quite romantic even with an event going on. Probably my most favourite spot at Bambu Indah. Definitely make sure you go to the bathrooms underground - quite a hilarious experience for some and never fails to...
