As a frequent globetrotter, I've had the pleasure of staying at various hotels around the world, but none have consistently impressed me like ELMI Hotel Surabaya. This was my fourth visit to the hotel, and just like before, they delivered an exceptional experience that keeps me coming back for more.

From the very start, the hotel staff's warm welcome and willingness to go above and beyond set the tone for a delightful stay. During my first visit, they handled a flight mishap with grace, extending a missed night's stay free of charge, and this time was no different. The hospitality shown by Mr. Harry at the front desk and Ms. Ina, the Duty Manager, is truly unparalleled.

Situated in the heart of the city center, ELMI Hotel's location is unbeatable. It is surrounded by a peaceful and upscale neighborhood, with an abundance of restaurants and two large malls, Tujunggan Plaza and Plaza Surabaya, all within a short 10-minute walk.

One aspect that consistently stands out is their breakfast spread, probably the best in the city. Each morning, the menu surprises with a diverse selection of local delicacies from various regions of Indonesia. I was able to relish seven different kinds of soup over my week-long stay, and the culinary journey was simply delightful.

While ELMI Hotel is an older establishment, they excel in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and stocking up on fresh linen. Though a bit more attention to maintenance staff could further enhance the experience, it never detracts from the overall charm and comfort of the hotel.

In conclusion, ELMI Hotel Surabaya has become my home away from home. Their unwavering commitment to outstanding hospitality, paired with a prime location and value-for-money experience, makes it an absolute gem in Surabaya. We used to like to come here before the pandemic, nice breakfast, variety of food, nice swiming pool, cozy experience in classical hallway and comfortable lobby with angklung sound but apparently, the music stopped...

-The shower water isnt clear water but brown with little bit of mud, or iron? I think its because of lack of visitors that the sower is seldom get used? I dont know, the maintenence team should know it better, -Average breakfast, they used to serve smoked beef that we liked veru much but apparently now they served only chicken kalassan (which they run out so fast) and fish fingers (wich is isnt fresh) and the nail in the coffer is they only have 1 or 2 food attendant that give us food so as you re expected they are some hungry people lined up, some of them isnt patience enough and take the food by them self, without gloves or washing hand which is a little bit of dangerous in the time we re living now, nice egg omelete tho I suggest the kitchen team give the visitor a disposable gloves so we will be more comfortable, but then again the management should know it better

I've been visiting Hotel Elmi since I was a kid, living in Surabaya. Mostly for dining at its famous, legendary Coffee Shop which is famous among the locals. It used to open 24 hours before the pandemic.

Any way, I stayed here again two weeks ago mid of March 2022 when I visited Surabaya. My previous visit was in 2012, ten years ago. The hotel is old, but still well maintained and had been renovated. The room I stayed in was clean, comfy although the furniture could be refurbished. TV, AC, Wi-Fi were working properly, although there were no safe deposit box and you need to request for refrigerator in advance if you need one.

What I love the most about the hotel is the food. My favorite for a very long time. Almost everything in the menu is delicious. The Western Food, the Chinese everything suit my taste well. The local foods they offered are also delicious and taste authentic. The breakfast buffet is also great. They don't have many options but everything taste delicious. There were rawon, fried rice, a vegetable dish, fried chicken, a potato dish, waffles, pancakes, bread, chicken porridge and slice fruits. I've tried them all and love love love the so much.

Most likely I will stay at Hotel Elmi again the next time...
