Grand Amira Hotel by Azana — Hotel in Surakarta

Booked this hotel during my motorbike touring with my friends from Bandung to Solo on the 23rd of December. My friend suggest me this hotel because it is a traveloka partner hotel and also have received an award by traveloka for its clean room. When we arrived we quite happy with the size of the room and easy check in. Unfortunately when we get into our room, we quite surprised by the room because it have dust in several place and the wastafel on the bathroom have rust on it. Because we are tired from our long trip we did not really have the energy to complaint, but one thing that really unpleasant for me is when I asked if I can borrow a helmet because our helmet was wet due to the big rain during the touring and they say we can not borrow it. They said the have the policy so the can not allowed the guest to borrow motorcycle or helmet, I understand with the motorcycle but the helmet I'm not quite fond of that. so the service not really good for me especially because of the urgent thing that I don't think would not harm anyone just because...

Nice budget hotel in the abit of a south from a center of the city. The theme of the hotel is islamic hotel but no, you won't get whipped here because you're not moslem. The secret to travel to any place is following the local norms and values. E.g. don't bang someone's wife of spouse, don't trick the local girls, keep your voice down when you're doing it, don't get drunk and making some trouble. As long as you follow these rules, you'll be welcomed.

The hot water was good, towel good (don't expect hot dry towel, it's just dry), internet was bad, tv cable was vary, they got slippers at every room. Breakfast was ok but very limited menu, anyway you can order via room service from the menu.

The only word that comes in my mind when thinking about this hotel is ‘standard’. Standard room. Standard service. Standard price. Almost everything about this hotel is standard for me. We tend to take this hotel because it’s close to our family’s area so it’s convenient. The only problem WE have with this hotel is the lighting.
