Ronde & siomay - Warung Srie Redjeki — Restaurant in Surakarta

This modest place offers so many choices, from snacks and main dishes to their famous ronde. Since we came here after dinner, we only ordered the ronde. Believe me, if we came with "empty stomachs", I would have tried a lot more 😜

I tried their Sekoteng Ronde, which consists of round ronde filled with peanuts, bread, jelly, and peanuts in a white ginger and sugar soup. Ronde will definitely warm our body, so it's best for nighttime. The spicy taste from the ginger soup isn't that strong.

I also tried their Sari Kedelai (soy milk). Surprisingly, I liked this one more than the sekoteng ronde. This iced soy milk is so refreshing and less sweet....

It's an eatery that is more well known for its warm Indonesian dessert. The dessert has some Chinese influence, for instance glutinous rice balls.

It has a great variety of food items too. Definitely a great place to visit if you'd like to sample many types of food at the same time. It's relatively cheap so it's friendly to the wallet. Some recommendations to try: sosis solo, tripe gongso satay, otak-otak (fish cake), siomay, batagor (fried siomay), variety of nasi bungkus, ronde (glutinous rice ball with peanut filling in ginger soup), wedang asle.

The place is quite spacious, good for groups. Not very accessible for...

Located right by the side of Keraton / Palace, this restaurant is quite cozy and spacious. They bring many food and beverages variety and the most famous for Rhonde (ginger drinks with sticky rice balls filled with peanuts, sesame and sugar) this one very yummy and Siomay (chinese dumpling in peanuts sauce). Among many other things, apparently their small Sego Kucing (cat rice) wrapped in banana leaves with different varieties of toppings also...
