Room: I booked my stay after reviewing photos of their rooms and the convenience of its location on Malioboro. When I first checked in, I was given a very dated room on the 5th floor which was not like the photos I saw online. The A/C did not work and I was dying of heat after my first night. After requesting the front desk to fix the A/C and the repair being unsuccessful, the hotel changed my room to one on the 7th floor (top floor) and it was exactly what I had seen in online pictures.
Food -- free breakfast: the food was not great. Very bland. So just eat your free breakfast then eat elsewhere for lunch/dinner.
Misc: the elevator has a super strong scent they is sprayed in there. Each time I went in, I'd try to hold my breath for 7-floor ride up!Staffers speak a decent amount of English. They have laundry service -- keep in mind they staple a paper on each piece they clean so maybe ensure they do not do it on satin/silk garments. There's a pool that is hardly used by guests.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay thanks to the staff who helped change my room. The location really helped -- walked around Malioboro street to the mall conveniently nearby and went out to a bar just couple of blocks away off of the...

Read moreI am writing this even as I am staying here. One of the worst hotels I have stayed in. It’s an apology for a 4 star hotel which they claim they are . It’s not even worth 1 star. I can’t even list the items I have issue with but main ones which are basic: Was given a room with broken bathtub and leaking toilet. Phone not working in room. To be fair it was changed but such room should never be there in the first place. Also in the revised room, no electrical connections in the room were working- so no charging of phones etc. no wifi in the room. I Complained for 2 days and no action taken at all. I only had people including duty manager come to check and then go away. I had to spend on my roaming data significant amount to stay connected No vegetarian food options at all In restaurant. The one item ie veg pasta is always sold out (i asked for 2 straight days) even before restaurant is open and was told it’s sold out ? Nobody picks up the calls- neither reception desk nor house keeping. So I don’t know who they are attending to if not guests?
Overall really bad ....
