A 1-star hotel posing as a 3-star.
For context, we have been travelling across SE Asia for 4 months now, staying in hotels, hostels, homestays etc ranging from no stars up to 5-star. Arriving at Prima In we were disgusted at the mould growing up the walls, the peeling wallpaper, the bed sheets covered in stains. There was a strong damp smell and just general dirt and stains everywhere. Whilst we moved rooms, the second one wasn’t much better but we were too tired to move again.
The bed was hard and we were only given 1 pillow each. When I asked for another pillow, they tried to charge me 30,000 per night. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. Your neighbours, down the corridor, floors above and below, outside etc. We were woken at 5 every morning by the call to prayer, then by kids in the pool at 6am (we were on floor 5).
The room facilities were poor. The plug sockets and light switches were coming away at the wall. We had a broken lamp that we reported that was not replaced. No soap is provided in the bathroom and we had to ask for toilet roll to be replaced twice.
The breakfast was fine and one female staff member was really nice and helpful, but when we ate in the restaurant for dinner one night, the chicken I ate was not properly cooked and made me unwell.
Location wise, you are close to Malioboro street, but not too close that you can hear it through the night. There are a lack of restaurants immediately nearby - you have to walk to Malioboro for this. You are also not close enough to walk to the palaces, we’d recommend staying further that way and absolutely...
Read moreThe only positive about this hotel is because the location is walking distance to the main train station. The rest are nightmare !
Overall , for a budget hotel , better stay with other branded hotel . They offer similar price but better condition of the room and breakfast . Many of similar hotel offer similar price with better hospitality experience and breakfast .
First , No one helped with my luggage from parking to the lobby . The first staff not so friendly until Wulan came and assist me and arrange and give information what I need for city tour .
During check in , no one escort to the room , and the room’s dirty ( photo attached ), room so small and dark . Balcony can not be accessed due security reason ( should mentioned this in the room information ).
Pillow not comfortable , as well as the bed already bend in the middle ( not good for back ).
2:30 pm heard a couple talked , I have to wake up and remind them as the room not sound proof .
Also can hear sound from next door as well as from the room in front of my room (a family with kids )
Breakfast : Hot meals served cold and no cover at all. Scrambled egg is oke
Will never came back to...
Read morePoor customer service despite a nice property
We stayed here as a family with two children. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing due to very poor customer service and misleading practices.
Before arriving, I requested an extra mattress for one child — something we always arrange at other hotels for around 100–150k IDR per night. Here, they demanded 250k/night (350K with breakfast), which was NON mentionned on the reservation process on Booking (lack of transparency) After long negotiations at check-in, they reluctantly agreed to lower it slightly to 180k. Still unreasonably high for a mastress and a towel in a small room...
The room itself was small, the air conditioning did not work properly, and the TV apps (like YouTube) were not accessible, which was frustrating for the kids.
On the positive side, the hotel is clean and well-maintained, the pool is very pleasant, and the overall property feels upscale and tidy.
However, the lack of flexibility, the unhelpful attitude, and the sense that they try to take advantage of guests left a very bad impression. I cannot recommend this hotel given how poorly they treat...
