I stayed for a very short stay but the staff were great and cooperative. The rooms were average and many of the furniture was damaged. It definitely need maintenance. The breakfast need more options and variations. It is acceptable for a quick stay or if the above doesn’t concern you. It has the advantage of being close to airport.

I'm writing this review according to my experience of travelling in June-July 2022. My review, as a Canadian-Dutch international traveller, comes from the experience of having been visiting Kurdistan/Erbil regularly since 2015, and having stayed in a handful of hotels in Erbil in the 40,000 to 80,000 ID price range during those trips. I have, on occasion, even stayed during business trips in a couple of the luxury hotels (e.g. Sheraton); so I have these experiences as a point of reference for this review. But in the 40,000 to 80,000 ID price range, Fareeq Hotel is by far the very best value for money, and overall quality. (We paid 70,000 ID per night staying 6 nights; you can try to negotiate a bit of a discount if you stay 5 nights or more.) || This the first time I stayed in this hotel. I had enough of the other hotel where I regularly stayed during visits to Erbil since 2018, as their quality had fallen but rate had risen. I was advised by a local friend to check out Fareeq Hotel--and I'm glad I did!!! This hotel in general and the room we stayed in (Room 304) are VERY CLEAN, and all the staff are professional and hygienic. Their mainly Nepalese housekeepers are very thorough when they clean. Unlike some other hotels, in Fareeq Hotel when they say they've changed the sheets and towels, they are not lying (I did the "pen mark" test to make sure ;-)). Unlike many other Erbil hotels in this price range, the room was not suffering from peeling paint, burnt-out lightbulbs, and water damage in the bathroom! The breakfast, included in the price, was basic, but tasty: it was their version of an "English breakfast." Every morning the cook added something special--like Black Forest cake, baklava, or butter cake. I have never had any stomach problems from eating their breakfast. || The hotel's location in Ankawa, near IshtarTV, is safe and conveniently close to popular restaurants, like Fuul w Hummus and Damasquino (within walking distance), or cafés like Barista on Ankawa Blvd. By the way, if you like to haggle taxi prices, anywhere within Ankawa suburb you can get one for 2,000 ID, though they'll first ask for 3,000 or even 5,000! || I intend to continue visiting Kurdistan Region and Iraq proper in the future, and whenever I'm in Erbil I will definitely continue to stay at Fareeq Hotel as long as they maintain their current...

It's a nice place, great rooms, generally good customer service- the receptionist (the young lady from Syria) is an excellent person and tries to go the extra mile. They offer basic but reasonable breakfast. As compared to other hotels in the same neighborhood, this is a great option overall, especially in the
