Have to stay in this place from time to time, it is awful.||The rooms are non exactly new, or clean. They forget to change bedsheets, or put them on at all (and it is really disgusting to look at the naked yellow filthy pillows).||The rooms have obvious airing issues, the reek of smoke is terrible, and if the room does not stink when you check in, rest assured it will start as soon as they fill up the other rooms. It never crossed their minds to have a separate floor for non-smokers. Out of five floors, it might have been arranged.||Once I got a room with also no window, except for a 20 cm pigeonhole that did not open anyway (pair that with the smoke coming from the other rooms and voila).||Breakfast is poor to say the least. Warm food is basically extra oily fried eggs under three shapes, toasted luncheon meet, and boiled eggs. ||The best coffee is the dried one, the "fresh" one is lukewarm when there is any at all.||I have no options but to stay here, but every time I know I am getting closer to a...
Read moreAmazing cleaning staff that cleaned room each day. Nice to have breakfast buffet in the mornings. Good location nearby lots of food options.
Power dropped out regularly, every 90 minutes or even more frequently. Because of that, internet is not suitable for calls or vidconfs. Not sure how things work there, but I was surprised when power went out that other buildings around and also street lights had power. When I checked out after four days, they tried charging me an extra night, for my first night, because I arrived in the morning. I had checked this in advance before booking and confirmed I would not be charged an extra night. I ended up not paying, but it was annoying to deal with this on my way out. Overall seems pricey for this caliber of establishment, but it was my first time in Erbil, and I am not familiar with options. I will stay elsewhere when I return and find a place with a backup generator that kicks in...
Read moreI've stayed at this for a few times now and I realy like it. It's located in Ancawa near a very popular Siryan fast food restaurant Damasquino (easy to find, if you take a taxi). For a three-star hotel the rooms are realy beautifull and the staff are super nice. At any time you can come to the lobby and have a (free) glass of Chai. In the hotel restaurant, where they serve breakfast you can also watch some tv (of football matches) and have a beer at still reasonable price.||||Just a heads up: when taking a taxi to/from city centre, always negotiate the price prior starting the ride. To the centre (Citadel) it will cost 5000IQD (=4$), which in my...
