Dijlat Al-Khair Hotel — Hotel in Baghdad

This was our first ever visit to Baghdad, whilst Baghdad it self was a very unique experience full of lots of spirituality and something strongly recommended, the stay at the hotel was very bad. No kettles are provided in the rooms, so even a cup of tea must be bought from the reception. No iron or laundry service is available. On top of this our shower was broken, generally speaking the bathroom was in a right state, despite complaining on the first day this was not addressed. Another couple from our group had a room which stunk of urine and stool so bad they had to wear pegs on their noses. The hotel staff was extremely rude and refused to change their room, when our group leader approached the staff they just said you can go and look for another hotel! At the end the owner of the hotel was called up who did have the room...

Pros:- Very good value for money for approximately 23 USD you get spacious room, good location in the heart of Baghdad, Friendly staff, a breakfast, clean bed sheets, TV, AC, private bathroom and a fridge. Highly recommended for backpackers and people with medium and low budget. The hotel is located on Al-Sadoun main Street so there's plenty of taxis and public transportation as well. Also there is alot of pharmacies, restaurants , takeaway felafel shops and hardware stores.

Cons:- There is no wheelchair entrance. There are many liquor stores in the area and many people get drunk at night so the place may not be good for children. Also beware of allies going to Al-bataween avenue nearby with bad reputation of being thieves hub. Nevertheless, there is a lot of police...

Absolutely Terrible hotel… no iron… no kettle… no towels… half broken shower… broken furniture… toilet door don’t close properly… hair dryer on bathroom wall not working… no shower curtain water goes everywhere when having a shower.. ceilings fans low nearly lost a limb.. HORRIBLE BREAKFAST.. no fresh milk.. no toast… one lift which 4 people just about fit in, no safety door on inside of lift which means you can potentially lose your hand!!! NOT CHILDREN SAFE!!!|This has got to be by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I do not recommend this to anyone, stay away do not...
