Hotel qasr Al Barakat — Hotel in Baghdad

The hotel is not expensive and affordable for regular travelers. The rooms are different depending on what you need, if singular or for 2 persons. They do offer special discounts for regular customers and offer better rooms. They offer breakfast too which unfortunately I didn’t have time to try. The prices range between 24 and 45 depending on the number of people in kne room. The area is safe in the morning and during day but would not recommend to walk there at night if you’re a female traveling unless you have a car, as it gets busy and is full for night clubs and drinking activities. The hotel hygiene is fine and not bad compared to the value for services you pay for. There is an elevator so it is wheelchair accessible and the hotel itself is family friendly. People there talk kurdish as well as Arabic. The hotel has its own cafeteria and restaurant inside so you can order things if needed. the area is not very far from landmarks if you use the car so approximately from 10-15 minutes you can get to other areas...

Unfortunately, there is no better budget hotel in Baghdad as this one. I really hated the hotel as a solo female traveler. The Iraqi men who stay here in this hotel are really bad. I was so disgusted by them. They were staring at me so much very inappropriately like they have never seen a woman. The hotel should have rules for men. In the Quran, it says a man show lower their gaze and not stare at women. So it should not be too difficult to discipline these men. I was here 2 years and that time it wasn’t this bad. A good budget hotel close to Sadoun Street. 35k for a single room which is pretty big. On a quiet street so nights are quiet.
