HOTEL DERBY STAFF||We stayed at Hotel Derby for a week in June and it was absolutely wonderful! The owners and staff clearly want to please the guests. Even though we could not speak Italian (we did try), we were greeted with warm smiles and a staff that went out of the way for our every request. (Example: My daughter got a little cut while playing outside and they ran to get her band-aides and anti-bacterial ointment. They did this without us asking and with great concern for a small cut.)||||FOOD ||Every day we were amazed by the range of foods that were served daily (dozens of options) and the desserts were spectacular. We travel the world and have lived in Europe for a few years and this has become one of our favorite destinations. We will be back year after year! These are homemade dishes, lots of seafood and fresh vegetables and fruits. We loved the pastas, soups, seafood, desserts and wines that were served. I heard they have a new chef and he is amazing!||||ROOMS||The rooms are clean and tidy. The staff cleaned everyday and did a thorough job. Our room was not large, but it was perfect for a quick siesta or to get ready before dinner. We stayed with our daughter (4) in a little bed and my husband and I had a queen/king bed. Each room also had a balcony, which was nice in the morning and evening to hear the ocean. ||||LOCATION||The other wonderful feature of this beautiful hotel is the location. We would get up and eat a fantastic breakfast, then swim at the pool (lifeguard on staff) with our daughter. She would often run over to the babysitting area and make a painting/drawing/bracelet before we went back to our room. Then we would eat lunch, have a siesta and walk to the beach (just on the other side of the hotel) and watch the kids play and be near the waves. We would end the evening with another great meal at Hotel Derby and then walk to town (5 minutes or less) and wander the cute beachtown stores that stayed open until midnight. My daughter also enjoyed the carousel and arcade down the street. One night we rented bikes and went all over town. ||||This is the most family friendly hotel I have ever stayed with in my travels. All the people working are warm and friendly. I wish I could speak more Italian to share my thoughts with them in...
Read moreWe stayed here in the summer of 2014. Having driven to the hotel from Scotland, it was very comforting to be booked in by the very friendly and attentive staff. ||Our room was on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the street with a view out to the sea over the beachfront. The room was comfortable with good storage, the en suite was modern and both were spotlessly clean. ||We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel every day and found it very enjoyable. The standard of the food and the variety of options were fantastic especially as my wife was pregnant at the time.||The hotel is very well situated. It has it's own section on the beach and is only a 5 minute walk from the town centre. The town itself is an interesting place for a walk in the evenings.||The pool and pool area were well maintained and the pool attendant was a helpful presence.||||Overall, the stay at the hotel was made memorable by both the location and the staff. There didn't seem to be a large Brit presence in the town which was good for a bit of foreign immersion. Some of the staff deserve a mention for being so helpful, Cristian, Sofia (Spoke the best English) and the Maitre D' (can't...
Read moreMy wife and I come to Cervia every year for the Artevento at Pinarella (kite festival), but this year we decided for a change. Boy, are we happy we did! It's not quite the season, so the hotel was offering a deal. We were there for two weeks. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch, very friendly staff and they go the extra mile. Mario and Salvatore in the dining area treated us right and the owners were always checking in. We felt right at home. Views of the beach, the city center is a short walk. Quiet at night, and they accept dogs (we have three). Go, if you get the chance! Definitely looking at next year at the same place, and maybe later...
