Relais Castelluccio Palusse — Hotel in Città della Pieve

What an outstanding experience. Katja and Alessandro are a dream of hosts team. Friendly but not intimidating, helpful on questions around what to do, which road is the best to go to.... etc. The location is a dream, an old castle recently renovated with six guest rooms. The rooms are equipped with all amenities you need, big rooms with loads of space and big bathroom. All located in a quiet environment but still walking distance to Citta Della Pieve. Whenever you are in the region, you have to plan your stay there. It is worth every penny (well cent) you have to pay. Nothing else then highly recommend this place. Ah... the food... The restaurant prepares freshly local food on a high level. When you think it is finally over, Alessandro comes around the corner with some "extras" you have to try. La mama is preparing all the delicious sweets for the morning for breakfast....

Six of us were booked into the Relais for the start of our week long self-guided bike trip through Umbria. Three added two extra nights at the start of the trip and three of us added one extra night. We are so glad we did. Katia and her family were terrific hosts, so warm and welcoming. Our rooms were spacious and elegant. Breakfast was ample and tasty. On our last night, we had a wonderful dinner there, prepared by Katia and her mother, with wine pairings recommended by Katia. It remains the best meal of our trip. And if that were not enough, one of us left a wallet in the room. We called upon arrival at our next destination and it was easily arranged that Katia's husband could drop it off on his way to work the next morning, which he did. A wonderful stay and experience, above and beyond...

A truly remarkable experience. We were warmly welcomed by the manager Laura and the owner Ben. Even though we only stayed for two nights (regrettably), we had several long and nice conversations with Ben. He told us a lot about the interesting history of the house.

The 6 rooms are quite different, some with a balcony, others with windows to the lovely park. I suggest you go to their web page and ask for a specific room.

As mentioned there is a very nice park on the grounds, and the swimming pool was refreshing and set in a beautiful place with morning and evening sun. It's the kind of place you just wish to chill at the hotel.
