Upon arrival the waiter took our order and our starters arrived quite quickly. The starters were very pleasant and all was well.

Maybe 5 minutes after our starters arrived our pizzas arrived as-well. We were taken aback as most of us weren’t finished with our starters and we found this choice quite odd. During the whole of our stay the entire staff kept glancing at our table and made soft remarks while passing by. We were missing a pizza and when asked the waiters multiple times they had to check every single time. When the pizza did arrive most of us were finished with our foods.

Not wanting to let the rudeness of the staff impact our dining experience I was optimistic about the food since our starters were great and the overall reviews of the restaurant were nothing but amazing. Our food came and I found it to be beyond tragic. I ordered the mortadella pizza and I was severely disappointed. My dough was overflowing with flour and so consuming every bite with it. The mortadella was bland and the pistachio taste was nowhere to be found.

During our stay, we couldn’t help but notice a quite particular foul smell that would greatly strengthen when the wind blew upon it.

When we finished eating we wanted to take our leftovers home and asked our waiter. In return we were handed a piece of aluminium foil and a plastic bag. This whole experience was truly a shame. I find it a personal tragedy that food was handled this way.

HO SBAGLIATO IO, MA ALMENO IL DOPPIO IL TITOLARE Dopo anni che frequento questo ristorante purtroppo ho avuto una pessima esperienza. Consiglio a tutti la pizza ma purtroppo non il titolare che non è stato gentilissimo. Capisco che bisogna fare fruttare al massimo i tavoli disponibili. Spiego la situazione ho chiesto una prenotazione (fatta alle 14:20) alle 19:30/20, mi è stato detto che non era possibile dopo le 19:30 e che dovevo al massimo arrivare 15 minuti dopo altrimenti il mio tavolo non ci sarebbe stato e cito sarebbe stato venduto. Va benissimo è giusto così e sono d'accordo. Quando alle 18:52 scrivo per annullare la prenotazione che alle 19:30 proprio non riuscivo mi è stato detto a che ora riuscivo e ho risposto alle 20:05. In perfetto orario e per rispettare al secondo il tempo prezioso del ristoratore mi sono presentata con un commensale in meno, 2 invece che 3 e due cani. Purtroppo per un disguido i cani li ho dovuti tenere io e l'altro commensale non è venuto perché non avremmo rispettato i stringenti tempi. Mi è stato risposto che il mio tavolo prenotato non sarebbe non era più disponibile visto che eravamo in due e che per un tavolo da due avrei dovuto aspettare, tavolo che mi sembrava aver intravisto senza cartoncino con scritto riservato. Mi dispiace molto che per secondo anno di fila ho avuto questa brutta impressione di un posto che ho amato per almeno che ne ho memoria. L'anno scorso 4 persone, avviso del ritardo di un quarto d'ora e mi viene risposto che la cucina alle 21:30 chiude e che avrei potuto ordinare solo pizza (nessun problema). Arrivati a cena la tavola affianco che è arrivata senza prenotazione ha potuto comunque ordinare altro dalla cucina mentre noi ci siamo attenuti alla regola. Ad ogni modo quest'anno è stato un mix di imprevisti tra treni in ritardo di 60 minuti e cani che avrei dovuto annunciare (secondo il proprietario). Sta di fatto che se volete mangiare bene ed essere trattati con gentilezza, animali o meno (perché ci sono stata con amici l'anno scorso e con i cani quest'anno) c'è un posto poco più in su che ci ha consigliato un conoscente dove si mangia e beve bene e dove il cliente viene trattato a modo. Ovviamente dal tono e dal modo abbiamo capito che non eravamo graditi. Sicuramente questa recensione è inutile, sicuramente il titolare il suo incasso con un altro cliente lo ha fatto, sicuramente il proprietario avrà una risposta che giustifica ovviamente il suo interesse e ci mancherebbe perché il lavoro è sacro ma certe volte anche il cliente. Ad ogni modo avrei dovuto dire tutto questo al proprietario e aggiungo di più non sono solita fare recensioni, soprattutto se negative. Mi dispiace tantissimo essere stata liquidata, sono davvero tanti anni che vengo a Città della Pieve, l'ho vista cambiare e forse un po' peggiorare.

Aggiungo adesso che ho letto recensioni simili alla mia, con estremo dispiacere vedo che non sono l'unica che ha avuto una brutta impressione. Ma soprattutto mi hanno lasciato l'amaro in bocca le risposte parte del ristoratore. Invito il ristoratore a non giudicare i commensali e scegliere in base a quanto pensa che spenderanno perché si fa un grosso errore, l'abito non fa il monaco e parlo per me e chi mi accompagnava non siamo dei morti di fame.

My fiancee and I bought a house a year ago in Umbria and have been determined to eat at every restaurant in the area. And this is our favorite pizza restaurant around, hands down! The crusts are wonderfuly crispy and the toppings high quality. The pasta and meat dishes are wonderful too. We've eaten at Perugino's a handful of times and have always been impressed by the warm and friendly service. Last time we ate, I misread the Italian and ordered the wrong pizza and the owner came straight over and sent over the pizza I had meant to get! I insisted we would pay for both as it was my mistake by but he waved us off and brought the other pizza out quickly free of charge. Also don't miss the desserts and chocolate souffle! My son asks for it everytime we're trying to pick a dinner spot. We have 15 family members coming to visit us and we can't wait to take them here on their first night in Italy to enjoy the quintessential outdoor dining vibe...and many many delicious pizzas and...
