Spent 2 nights at the Giardino Verdi as part of a 10-day road trip around Lake Garda - and it was a brilliant base from which to explore Riva del Garda. The hotel has clearly been recently renovated, resulting in an ultra-modern, clean look and feel - very different to the more traditional hotels elsewhere around the lake. Sometimes in an effort for clean, slick lines, functionality has been forgotten, but a comfortable stay nonetheless. ||The hidden gem here is the rooftop terrace - superb. A tranquil spot with a jacuzzi, loungers, bean bags, yoga studio and sauna. Brilliant to unwind after a day of exploring. ||But, aside from the wonderful lady at breakfast (who spent 21 years in Lewisham), the staff need to have some level of customer service training as they have none - the receptionist in particular! The hotel is located within a restricted car zone, which you can normally access if staying in the area. We drove through it only for the receptionist to appear quite aggrieved that we had done (see picture saying we could), despite no prior warning, and that she would “try” and ensure we were not fined. On checking out, I asked if it had been resolved: “I’ve submitted the form; we’ll now have to see” I really expected a £200-a-night hotel (yes, parking is £30/night, bumping up the cost, and is a 10-min walk away!) to take its responsibility to its guests seriously, and that starts with ensuring we’re not incorrectly fined - just as other hotels on our trip did. ||Ultimate question: would we return? No - not at the cost, the attitude of most staff and availability of other quality...
Read moreGreat hotel, perfect location and very modern which was something I was looking for and isn't the easiest to find around Lake Garda.
The town square is super close and we enjoyed listening to live music every night. Lots of restaurants are basically on the doorstep and we went to the local supermarket which was around a 5 minute walk most mornings for a fresh crosissant (would recommend the pistachio).
We ate breakfast at the hotel on our last day and there was a great variety: cereals, crepes, fruits, meats, cheeses, cakes etc so was good value for money if you don't fancy nipping to the supermarket. We also had drinks most evenings and sat outside and always good service.
The room felt quite spacious with a really big and comfy bed. The only draw back is the amount of storage. We were there for 8 nights and basically lived out of our suitcases as there was two drawers, a couple of cubby holes and a rail with about 6 hangers. Didn't feel this was enough for two people staying the length of time we did.
Lastly, the rooftop whirlpool was definitely a bonus to the hotel. We went there a couple of times and each time had it to ourselves. Felt like we were in a...
Read moreWe stayed at the Giardino Verdi Hotel for six nights. The property was exceptionally nice and clean, and the location was very convenient. The staff members were welcoming and friendly.
However, we had issues with the owner’s hospitality and attitude, which significantly ruined our experience. On our first night, the air conditioning in our room was not functioning properly , and we were moved to another room that was much less convenient and not properly equipped with only beds (no refrigerator and no TV) and an extremely noisy AC temporarily before being moved back to our original room. Additionally, the refrigerators in both rooms were not working properly, nor was the telephone. Despite informing the management about these issues, no efforts were made to fix the refrigerator nor the telephone, and no compensation was offered. The lobby during the day ☀️ was extremely hot.
I was hoping to come back however, It is unfortunate that while the hotel is beautifully decorated, clean, and has a friendly staff, the owner’s and management’s poor attitude negatively impacts the...
