Firstly, is reservation system isn’t great, took multiple attempts just to book via their reservation portal and then by WhatsApp message in which finally got a response and managed to get a booking.
Secondly if you are celebrating any special event, even if prior notice given at booking you don’t get a special gesture for the meal. Not even a candle on your desert as a celebratory gesture.
There is a minimum spend of 35 euros for non weekend and 45 euros Friday and Saturday.
Tucked away in an open passage just off a main square, La Cort offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor setup is quite basic, while the interior is more atmospheric, featuring arched ceilings and a rustic charm. A long table at the back can seat around 18 people, giving it a communal feel, though overall the space leans more towards bar-style seating.
One thing missing from the start: the bread was served plain, with no butter or olive oil—something that should be reconsidered.
Drinks The Philippa Verona, a creative twist on a Negroni, was excellent—well-balanced and refreshing.
Food • Tagliatelle Felicetti with Porcini and Local Black Truffle A solid, expected dish, but nothing memorable. Lacked the depth or indulgence you’d hope for given the ingredients. • Puttanesca di Mare (Tagliolini with Mediterranean Red Tuna) Another average dish. Tuna was fine, but overall it didn’t elevate beyond a standard pasta plate. • Tataki di Tonno (Red Tuna with Pistachio Crust and Mango Sauce) A highlight of the evening. Beautifully prepared and full of flavor. However, it was let down by the portion size—approximately 150 grams—and the lack of any real accompaniment aside from a single grilled onion shoot. • Polpo Grigliato (Grilled Octopus with Mash and Vegetables) The octopus itself was well-cooked and tasty, but the mashed potatoes were bland and underwhelming. • Tiramisu Looked appealing, but the taste was average and unremarkable.
Overall Impression The pasta dishes felt overpriced for the portion sizes. The food ranged from average to good, with the tataki standing out. The restaurant was quiet at 7:30 PM but filled up nicely by 8:30 PM, suggesting a later dining crowd.
On the plus side, the wine list was solid, with a good selection and a reasonably priced Amarone at €11 a glass.
A mixed experience—pleasant atmosphere, decent drinks, but food that didn’t quite justify the price tag: two primi, two mains, tiramisu with two cocktails and one white wine...

A restaurant visit that promises so much and delivers so little is always a disappointment. But when the cuisine is as outstanding as it is at La Corte and everything else falls short, the disappointment transforms into a true tragedy. The arrogance and failures in service and management are all the more painful because they overshadow a world-class kitchen.
The reservation process alone is an expression of this sad failure. Forcing a guest to pre-pay a minimum spend, instead of simply allowing them to book a table, is not only arrogant but also simply bad for business. The result was an embarrassingly empty restaurant during the high season, with only six tables occupied. A space that should have been buzzing with life was instead a sad echo of this false sense of exclusivity.
With three waiters serving a handful of tables, the service should have been a masterclass in attentiveness. Instead, we experienced a baffling indifference. Neither water nor wine was refilled, and the "amuse-bouche," which should be a given in this price range, was nowhere to be found. Instead, we were served cheap baguette without a hint of care. The outdoor area was equally uninspired and soulless—a backdrop that completely failed to match the culinary experience.
And that is the crux of the problem: La Corte's cuisine is excellent. Every dish was a masterpiece that met the highest standards. The quality of the ingredients, the masterful preparation, and the composition were a joy for both the palate and the soul. It is all the more incomprehensible and tragic that this culinary highlight is surrounded by catastrophic circumstances. The extra fee for sharing a single dish was simply the final, absurd insult in their ignorant pricing policy.
La Corte could have been a gourmet paradise, but it's nothing more than a tragic story of squandered potential. The outstanding food is sadly just a painful reminder of what this restaurant could have been, had it not been defeated by its own hubris and a glaring lack of hospitality. It's a place you'll never want to visit again, but one that will haunt you because of its...
Read moreIt’s a high end restaurant that is very well decorated and offers nice dishes in between of traditional Italian cuisine and Michelin restaurants. The design of the tables, menu, crockery and glasses and so on was amazing. The staff were attentive and spoke good English but still communicated to me as if I was their friend, i.e without much boundaries. I was able to make the reservation the same day at the end of summer which was great too. Their high end positioning brings some downsides (to me personally): they require you to spend a minimum amount of money during the booking, they don’t offer regular tap water and overcharge for water in bottles instead etc. The menu does not have a lot of choice but it still offers a reasonable selection. The dishes are pretty pricey and the portion sizes are small (like half of a regular Italian portion in a regular restaurant). In terms of the taste and price/quality it’s a bit of a hit or miss. For example, tartare with porcini mushrooms and cheese fondue well looked like a high end restaurant plate and tasted excellent. The beef cheek though tasted well and was served nicely but I did not understand much difference from the same dish served by a random trattoria. They have a very large selection of wines, from reasonably priced to very expensive ones up to few hundred euro per bottle. Unfortunately their menu did not offer wine by glass. Overall this restaurant is a great place for a special occasion (or just a great place if money is not a problem for you). There was definitely a lot of added value compared to a random place in terms of the design and service. The added value in terms of the dish taste was a bit of a hit or miss so you may want to diversify and order multiple different options per table if...
