Relais Du Lac — Hotel in Desenzano del Garda

I went back and forth on a 2 or a 3. We booked a one-week stay through the company Apt24, which manages some of the apartments. I tried to break out some of the findings to help others.

Apartment: 3/5 Sparsely furnished but clean. Came with a bed, couch, kitchenette, table with chairs, and balcony with table/chairs. The main bed was comfortable, the pull out couch was really poor and only for those with young backs.

The flat was fitted with AC which would have been nice, but the entire flat would fill with the smell of smoke (and I guess smoke) from others smoking on the balconies nearby (The AC intake is on the balcony). With our young child, this was a huge issue.

Pool: 4/5 The pool was nice. Its good for kids and is relatively shallow, and slopes in from everywhere. It was busy but not over the top, and we always found chairs. -1 only because its next to a loud road.

WIFI: 0/5 We werent able to use it at all. We could connect but I couldnt even read emails with it, let alone stream anything. They use Wifi for the building I guess, and its not a connection for the specific apartment. We were lucky to have data on our phones because it would have been impossible.

Parking: 2/5 (if you have a small car) Underground which is nice, but tiny spots that you can barely fit into if someone is parked next to you. One time our spot was taken and another time we couldnt park because another car had creeped over the line.

Overall it was OK, but we didn't find the price-value ratio good and will not stay...

This is a relatively large Italian style hotel close to attractions such as Gardaland amusement park (approx. 15 min drive) or the old picturesque town of Sirmione (5 min drive). While the hotel could need some refurb it was very pleasant and the room we got was huge - our kids could sleep in their own room! Outside there was a large private terrace. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Hotel has its own parking garage huge enough to offer parking to all guests. The swimming pool looked wonderful but we didn't test it as it was too cold to do that.

Maybe the only downside were some other guests who were stockpiling food at breakfast and then didn't eat it. That's such a shame and a waste of good food. Consequently if you came late to breakfast you occasionally had to wait for staff to restock things like...

Schonmal vorab es ist definitiv KEIN 4 Sterne Hotel die Bilder sind sehr sehr sehr veraltet das Hotel ist komplett Renovierungs bedürftig von draußen wie von innen Zimmer sehen auf denn ersten Blick ordentlich und sauber aus aber bei etwas genauerem Hinschauen ist es nicht sauber bei uns waren im ganzen Zimmer Haare von anderen Personen verteilt unter denn Betten Staub und an denn wand leisten ebenfalls von außen ist es komplett in die Jahre gekommen und dreckig putz Brösel ab leisten kaputt Lichter Defekt Rost an denn Mülleimern, das nennen wir es mal Wlan hat garnicht funktioniert in dem Zimmer es ist die ganze zeit rausgesprungen und es hat alles sehr lange gedauert soviel dazu jetzt zum Frühstück das Ei ist aus dem Eimer , Café wird ne auf Massen gekocht und dann verteilt also kann es schonmal 10 min dauern was bei uns mal der Fall war, wir hatten Schimmel auf manchen Essens Sachen und die Decke bzw. Verkleidung der Stühle sind ebenfalls dreckig und werden nicht gereinigt ich könnte dazu einen Blick dem Öfteren in die Küche schauen , als ich sie das erste mal gesehen habe dachte ich es wäre eine Besenkammer aber das ist doch die Küche gewesen bei genauerem betrachten also unaufgeräumt überall liegt was rum und entspricht nicht denn Hygiene Standards die man sich in einer Küche wünscht meines Erachtens ist es wie schon am Anfang gesagt nicht mal ansatzweise 4 Sterne wert und ist eher für jeden der sich da erholen möchte und auch wenn es nur zum übernachten ist ein kräftiger Schlag ins Gesicht, das Personal ist schon freundlich aber kann leider nur englisch und Italienisch wie auch an der Rezeption. Definitiv kein zweites Mal und haben auch die Aufenthalts Zeit verkürzt da wir es nicht mehr ausgehalten haben , das Hotel ist einfach schlicht weg abzocke 171€ die Nacht und man bekommt sowas freches ins Gesicht nein danke zudem ist die Tiefgarage sehr schlecht ausgeleuchtet und die Wende sind voller Dreck zudem fühlt man sich wie in einem Gefängnis überall Überwachungskameras die dich jeden Schritt verfolgen Sicherheit ist ja gut aber es geht auch anderst und nicht das man sich fühlt wie in einem Gefängnis, zudem liegt es an einer sehr stark befahrenen Hauptstraße. Definitiv keine Unterkunft egal wie viel man auch erwartet man...
