La Fiermontina is absolutely the best. Definitely the nicest and most comfortable place we’ve ever stayed in. We didn’t want to leave. First, Marta and Eleonora - and all the staff - are so genuinely kind and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay relaxing and easy. I will miss them. The location is perfect - within the historic center and super close to the sites that you’ll want to explore but away enough to be quiet and peaceful. We stayed at the musuem, just a minute away from the hotel. While there was another family staying there, we felt that we were the only ones there. Our room was on the top floor with our own private huge patio and jacuzzi. The huge room had a big comfortable bed and great shower. Awesome breakfast that seemed to be just for us - we’re earlier risers. The chef is just the kindest, sweetest person. Oh and we also had access to the hotel property and their gorgeous pool - and their other hotel property just a bit further away and its gorgeous roof deck for cocktails and skyline view of Lecce. Marta - can we come back and just live upstairs at the musuem? You won’t even notice us. Give our best to everyone and please thank them for us. Oh and did I mention this little one (see photo under patio chair) who would often come visit us?

My husband and I spent 4 nights at La Fiermontina and really enjoyed it. It’s a small property (only ~15 rooms I believe), so you feel like you are staying in someone’s home and not a hotel. The rooms are large and beautiful. We stayed in Suite 1, which is close to the reception area and the entrance to the courtyard. We could hear a little bit of noise late at night, but it did not bother us at all being from NYC. There may be other room options right across the street that are more private. The service was excellent all around - from breakfast to the aperitifs in the evening! We also had a rental car, and they were fantastic about getting our car for us each day. If you choose to stay at La Fiermontina, I highly recommend taking the free art tour at their nearby property, the Palazzo (a 5 minute walk). We found Lecce to be a great place to base ourselves for the first half of our Puglia trip. It’s an easy drive to many of the towns in Salento, which you can explore during the day (Otranto, Gallipoli), and then you can return to Lecce in the evening and walk to any of the restaurants for dinner. We would recommend La Fiermontina to any of our family members or friends visiting Puglia!

The hotel feels like you’ve been dropped in to a movie set! When the sparrows are flying above chaotically at night it’s a bit Alfred Hitchcock-esq. It’s stunning with understated elegance. The gardens with olive trees and oranges are beautiful and inviting but cozy enough to feel comfortable. The artwork throughout the hotel and at their private museum is so special. And once you hear the story behind it all you will find it all even more captivating. The staff. Couldn’t. Be. Nicer!! Our room was very comfortable and elegant. My ONLY complaint was the lighting in the bathroom was not good. Applying makeup was tough and the safe was a challenge. The photos on the website don’t do this place justice at all. The town of Lecce was quaint. Food was good. Hotel helped us with a driver and tour guide for the day and another day at Mora Mora beach club. Also great experiences. Highly recommend!

In a city where you can stay at another property for a fraction of the price and it would be better, or equivalent value, I would stay somewhere else.||||Property is pretty - garden, art, and furniture.||||Quality||- The actual rooms, bed/bedding, towels, etc. for the price is not worth it. Bedding was super cheap. Showers didn’t drain well. Blinds didn’t fully close. Not 5-star hotel quality at all.||- We paid $500+ a night (for the worst room on the property - blinds didn’t close, close to entrance / main building where many enter).||||Poor service:||- We asked for water to make tea and they told us to get it from the bathroom sink in our room lol.||- The restaurant experience was terrible - if you’re going to try and serve a unique dining experience you need servers who can “sell” the menu and the experience. They were nice but just really green. Didn’t explain anything on the menu (i.e this pasta is served cold, vs most pasta dishes that are served warm for a main dinner dish). Continually tried to push 50euro per glass of wine (even after saying we didn’t want wine).||- Servers in the morning were lovely and the breakfast was a really nice buffet, probably the only thing worth your money, but if you’re like us, we don’t eat breakfast. We felt we had to try though just to justify our payment for the hotel.||- The worst part is that we found and killed multiple spiders in our room. My boyfriend was mauled by spiders in our room at night. He woke up with at least 6 spider bites. We asked for something from first-aid. They gave him a spray to use and then told him they needed it back for emergencies! This was an emergency. They should have went to the pharmacy for him. We thought maybe just we were unlucky, but friends of ours stayed in an even more expensive suite and found ants all collected under a towel in the corner of their bathroom.||||Staff was nice but just didn’t know how to deliver a truly 5-star hotel experience, and we’ve had experience at other 5-star hotels. Save your money and...

Look at the management responses to criticisms of this hotel and that tells you everything you need to know. The responses are entitled and condescending and it's always the guest's fault. Welcome to La Fiermontina.||As others have mentioned, the breakfast people are delightful. Perhaps they should run this hotel. Instead it's run by a wealthy Italian family as their pet project, but frankly feels more like an expensive guest house where the guests are a bother once they have provided their credit cards.||This is not a 5-star experience, from the bedding to the towels to the cheap soaps in the bathroom. The expectations are set by the pricing and if this hotel were less expensive I would have no problem giving them a higher review, but they are charging 5-star rates for 2-star service.||Their photos online are very deceptive. The rooms look huge, and they market a very basic small room as a "junior suite" which overlooks the entry area and hallway. I think if they were more realistic in how they portray and describe the rooms it would lead to less guest disappointment based on our experience and the reviews. And no way will they move you to a nicer room... this is what you booked, and this is what you get, goodbye we have things to do.||This property has potential if it were better managed, but given the prices, the value is not on offer. Let's wait for the management response to this review. Somehow it will be my fault "If you want a suite, book a suite" without really any intention of taking the constructive feedback many guests have provided, and implementing changes.||La Fiermontina is a sad tribute to...

Maria dont ever leave this property. I know Andrea, Anna, Daniel are also wonderful and were fabulous. The wonderful people in the restaurant each morning are as good as it gets!~ Smiling/Prompt/Welcoming. Truly a great compliment to a great hotel. I must say however so much of my interaction was with Maria. A lot of it happened in the months before I even arrived and she was just so accommodating and so reachable! She assisted as I just couldnt decide of all the great rooms across the 3 properties which one to choose. She described all and loved each one; rightfully so. Once I arrived, I was greeted wiht a hug and she and the rest of the staff immediately stole our hearts. The accommodations are very original and very cool. We were in a poo suite across street from main hotel at Lux homes. Very cool. Great room. We also went to the other property and were allowed to se some of the unoccupied rooms (Daniel was not only our host there but gave us some great local recommendations as well) The Blue room stood out as super lux and very cool. We loved the hotel and loved the easy walk we did each night into town. Lecce Old town jumps. We loved it all. By way, great gesture of a few extra pastries the day we left for airport. So great of you.I wish I can recall his name is restaurant but he was outstanding (fresh squeezed orange juice please!) and gracious and super prompt as were all who worked there!...
