We booked a table for 10:00 PM but were seated with a 15-minute delay. Despite this, everything initially seemed to go well: the appetizers arrived without any issues and in a reasonable time frame. However, things drastically worsened about half an hour later when the waiter returned to our table to ask if we wanted to order anything else. My friend and I asked for bombette, a traditional dish from Salento, but his response was surprisingly rude: he told us that the kitchen was about to close, even though he had been the one to suggest we order more. Shortly afterward, the bombette were served, but with an absolutely unacceptable warning: the waiter asked us to "check the cooking" because, according to him, the dish should have cooked for at least 20 minutes, while the ones brought to the table had been prepared in just 10. I find it absurd that a customer should be responsible for verifying the cooking of a dish. As expected, the bombette were undercooked, so we kindly asked to have them cooked again. When the dish returned, the situation had worsened: the bombette had clearly been reheated in the microwave, resulting in a burnt exterior and still raw interior. At this point, when we pointed out the problem, the waiter reacted inappropriately, raising his voice and not even apologizing. Instead, he blamed us for ordering too late, essentially holding us responsible for the poor service. Such behavior is unacceptable in any restaurant. We had never been treated with such arrogance and carelessness. A disappointing experience that I would not...
Read moreI had known this restaurant for over 20 years and because my mum was from Lecce I know very well the locale cuisine. I have eaten there a couple of days ago and I left shocked: my daughter and I had to wait for a very long time, the owner (Anguilino's son?) was decent but the two waitresses were unkind. They were annoying and hurrying us up (after an hour to get a table) while we were choosing, and because most options were gone and the menu has been simplified if compared to the old good days, it wasn't easy. My plate of orecchiette was a half portion as they sold me the dish of the day which was already almost finished. I asked to order something else due to the small portion (happy to pay) and they told me they had finished everything, and immediately after they let a six people group sit when we were waiting for the anguria. The anguria never arrived, my second glass of wine neither, the plates were all breached, and after thirty minutes waiting my daughter had to learn that the anguria was finished (as well as anything else). Last but not least, the Bombette (meat dish) were pretty disgusting, they served salad without oil, salt, lemon or pepper, and I had to chase the rude waitress to get each item.
I left offended, still hungry and disappointed, same as my daughter. Sad to say, but the new generation has betrayed the...
Read moreWARNING: RESTAURANT ONLY FOR HORSE EATERS! this place was suggested to me by a few locals and we finally managed to book a table but were very disappointed to find out that the menu is very limited for vegetarians or those who like me don't think horses should be eaten! what we ordered that was not an horse was very average and overpriced. my partner's merluzzo was literally like an hospital meal (barely pan-heated with a slice of lemon and a few cheap lettuce leaves) and the 7 euro side cicoria was not wild chicory (but a cheap supermarket version of it!) and small. also, as there are so many people who come in to ask for a table, we left our table quickly as were stressed by this wave of people coming and going. nothing like what we expected but again nobody told us this was a place for horse eaters thus if you do eat those beautiful smart animals you might want to check reviews of those who eat them but if DONT EAT HORSES, this is not a place for...
