Quartara is a very well managed boutique property on Panarea and the best and most elegant choice for a hotel on lovely Panarea. The owner Maria is at the hotel each day to ensure things are done right and done well. The staff are lovely. We booked the room top terrace room with which you have access to the roof top terrace with dipping pool (a life saver in hot hot July). There are two rooms on the roof top terrace. Room 2 is the better room of the two with a dresser, chest of drawers and double doors that you can look out all the way to the ocean. Room 1 is a single door only and in my view not as nice. The hotel is located close to town but far away enough for us not to be bothered by the bustling port front nightlife at Raya and the Bridge or Lisca Bianca. We were picked up in a golf cart type vehicle right where we got off the Liberty ferry (don’t bring a lot of luggage) and driven two minutes to the hotel. Matteo made excellent drinks! Try his version of the spritz. The food we had was good for breakfast lunch and dinner. Maria the owner arranged for a sunset private boat tour of Stromboli with Danilo (who made the boat as well) - this is a must do. Panarea is a very special island and place in the world and we found Quartara to be its gem. Maria is absolutely lovely and an attentive business owner who cares about taking care of her guests. The hotel is beautiful and ornately appointed with pieces of furniture and decorations Maria handpicked herself from all over the world. We highly recommend this property without reservation...
Read moreWhat a welcoming and friendly place to stay at in an amazing location overlooking the little port with everything in a short distance!! The staff is exceptional and nothing is too much trouble: from arranging the taxi from the train station to the ferry in Milazzo (definitely recommended when a short transfer time between train arrival and ferry departure), to suggesting things to do, to recommending bars, hair dressers and restaurants (although we thought their restaurant was the best on the island!). ||||The whole setup and the resulting atmosphere was one of pure, care-free relaxation. ||||Breakfast (included) was excellent. It is served at your table, in line with Covid measures, after making a selection from a wide array of fresh fruits, freshly baked pastries, salumi and cheeses. Again the staff was very professional and not intrusive.||||Quartara is the perfect combination of everything you could want in a boutique hotel - warm welcome, lovely staff, beautiful design, beautiful bedroom (with excellent bed, wonderful en-suite bathroom with Ortigiia toiletries), comfort, efficiency, laid-back vibe, and a stunning location. ||||We had one of the 2 rooms with the 360-degree panoramic rooftop terrace and it was breathtakingly beautiful. ||||We are going to review the restaurant separately now, but just to say here, we thought the food was the best of all the restaurants we tried on Panarea. An excellent menu and wine list and lovely staff. ||||This hotel, and Panarea, has made it to the top of our...
Read moreWe treated ourselves to a one night stay here, as we were travelling back to the mainland from Stromboli. We had a double room with partial sea view from the small balcony. The room was absolutely spotless, and the bathroom & shower were amazing. Lovely products in the bathroom. All the staff here are so lovely, and the service from being collected from the port to checking out was amazing. Breakfast was excellent, staff super attentive. This is the kind of place where nothing is too much trouble. The food in the restaurant Broccia was delicious, the crispy shrimp in their thin and crispy coating were some of the best shrimp I have ever had! The restaurant at night was really nice because it’s quiet and off the beaten track a little bit, although Panarea is quite tiny so also not far from anything. We also both had a massage in the late afternoon, i think it was the oiliest massage i have ever had, but really nice! The view from the roof terrace is beautiful in the evening, although the rooms on the roof were unoccupied when we stayed, i am not sure how residents of those rooms would feel about sharing their view! Wonderful stay, would recommend a stay...
