Ristorante Da Pina — Restaurant in Lipari

It is hard to overstate the taste, the service and the quality of the food which we have been treated two nights in a row at this fantastic place.

Every dish was thought through and executed to perfection. The service was impeccable and every need attended too practically as soon as it arose. The table settings were authentic and created a homely atmosphere of relaxation and indulgence. We had two group dinners of 6/7 people there and we all left the table happy and fulfilled. Both times.

I had the Octopus Carpaccio and the Swordfish Tagliata my first time there and the Beaten Shrimp and Tuna Steak on my second night. The marinade of the Octopus was a composition of such tender perfectness that it elevated the taste of raw octopus to something I did not know hitherto existed. The Swordfish and the vegetables were delicious. The Beaten Shrimp were of a truly original consistency and taste palate and although not much in quantity a perfect starter. The Tuna Steak on Panarea-Herbs was perfect.

The wine selection was helpful and the Sommelier knew what he was talking about. We tried a rather sweet Malvina white and afterwards an Cattaratto with a long palate and a elegant balance.

I would instantly go again and look no further for food on the Island. I also (quite shamefully) would normally not review places which made me this happy, but Da Pina deserves all the praise and beauty we can bring forth. It is quite possible as...

Non era la prima volta presso il ristorante Da Pina a Panarea e proprio per questo motivo siamo stati felici di ritornarci anche quest’anno a cena, sicuri di ritrovare e rivivere la stessa esperienza sensoriale positiva e totalizzante sperimentata in passato. Appena entrati abbiamo atteso invano alcuni minuti che qualcuno dello staff si accorgesse di noi mentre evidentemente molto indaffarati ci passavano davanti continuamente senza degnarci di uno sguardo (e già solo questo per un ristorante che si considera essere di un certo livello è abbastanza sconveniente, ma ci si può anche passare sopra). Così, dopo aver fermato io un membro dello staff per chiedere di accompagnarci al tavolo prenotato telefonicamente finalmente riusciamo a sederci incontrando anche la gentile proprietaria che ricordandosi di noi ci accoglie e ci saluta con quella educazione e quella cortesia che avremmo dovuto ricevere al nostro arrivo. Il locale conserva la sua atmosfera e il suo gusto tipicamente siciliano, peccato che la clientela presente in maggioranza rovini sensibilmente la sola esperienza della presenza in questo luogo dando una connotazione altamente negativa dominata dalla figura quanto mai banale nonché classicamente stereotipata del medio cafone arricchito che fotografa i piatti e parla ad alta voce (ma di ciò, ovviamente, non si può dar colpa né alcuna responsabilità al ristorante Da Pina). Passiamo ai piatti: antipasti gradevoli che sostanzialmente hanno confermato le memorie del passato, stesso discorso anche per i dessert e per la malvasia coi biscottini gentilmente offerti a fine cena. La grande delusione ahimè ha riguardato il piatto principale della cena, ciò che avrebbe dovuto rappresentare la parte migliore del tutto. In tre persone avevamo ordinato il medesimo secondo di pesce, filetto di dentice al limone, che ci aveva deliziato e soddisfatto in passato….ma stavolta lo troviamo estremamente scarso in ognuna delle tre porzioni, talmente caldo da sembrare un piatto preparato in precedenza e riscaldato prima di esserci servito e totalmente coperto e sopraffatto dall’abbondante salsa al limone che da sola ha rappresentato praticamente l’80% della portata. Ci ha fatto anche sorridere constatare che in due dei tre piatti fossero presenti tre olive e nel terzo neanche una, particolare che evidenzia poca attenzione nella cura della preparazione e della presentazione. Voglio sottolineare che la delusione qui descritta l’ho anche comunicata al momento all’unica persona dello staff che ci ha chiesto come fosse andata la cena e che con estrema educazione e professionalità si è scusato per l’accaduto. Dopo aver pagato ci alziamo dal nostro tavolo e nella stessa indifferenza generale che ci ha accolto al nostro arrivo andiamo via. Non voglio soffermarmi ulteriormente sul rapporto qualità-prezzo di questo ristorante, sarebbe ovviamente superfluo e scontato. Mi limito soltanto a dire che per un locale “di livello” come ama definirlo chi lo gestisce e lo porta avanti con orgoglio come fiore all’occhiello della ristorazione di Panarea, tutto ciò di cui ho scritto in questa recensione non rappresenta certamente qualcosa di cui...

I came back after 10 years and was a little disappointed by the service and the food, though the dishes were well presented. Had lobster pasta for main course which was average, while the raw fish as appetizers was very good. We were a group of people and it started raining and we had to eat in the rain which is not the best experience. The staff disappeared while it was raining and they came only after to check in. Understandable that weather is out of control, but options should be explored before hand as forecast of rain was announced and attention to details and high customer dedication should be the basis considering the type of restaurant.
