Hotel with a perfect sense of place||Just off Folgaria's main street,(in a little bit of a tricky-to-find spot) this small, family-run hotel is well-built and comfortable. Our room had a good-sized balcony, good bathroom, and a built in kitchen disguised by the closet's sliding doors - a module construction that felt like Norway. Good bed linens, but the towels are beaten to death, and there are essentially no bath products. ||||Terrific breakfast- not included with room: Many kinds of cakes, croissants, eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal, really good juice, espresso, chocolate...on and on.||||The little spa looked inviting but shut so early (8pm), we didn't get a chance to use it. The wifi is spotty at best. Would stay here again.||PS. While in Folgaria, don't miss the Michelin-starred chef's restaurant "John Caffe". Amazing...
Read moreWe had an unfortunate experience at the hotel. We just wanted three days of peace and quiet. The light on the balcony wouldn't go off, there was noise from neighbors all day and evening, and on the last day there was a perpetual electronic whine, that we think was coming from the enormous satelight dish on the yard. ||||We interacted with two people - a youngish man, who couldn't be bothered beyond the basics and a lovely older woman who made us feel very welcome. ||||Otherwise, all good. Rooms were very clean. Buffet breakfast was good - lots of options.||||The location is good - there are a wide range of restaurants in town, and fantastic walking right from the hotel. We had a car but didn't need it in town at all. Also, while it was 90F down in Verona and Trento it was a lovely 70-75F in Folgaria. Perfect...
Read moreWe spent a four-night skiing vacation as a family at this very welcoming hotel and were extremely satisfied. This is a small hotel (ca. 6 rooms) in the center of Folgaria that is run by a single family. The hosts Paolo and Olimpia are very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated in the local style and impeccably clean. We chose a half-pension arrangement and ate at the relais every evening. The cook - a.k.a. the owner Paolo - is very good and treated us to his interpretation of local dishes. Breakfast was correspondingly varied and generous, ranging from eggs and meat to a choice of cakes and pastries. Our 8-year old also enjoyed the food very much, in particular the fresh crepes in the morning. ||||There are wellness facilities included in the forfait but we did not make use of them because of...
