This campsite has a lot of issues. The only real plus is that you can pick your own spot since the pitches aren't marked. There are power outlets and water taps available, but the water is white from all the lime in it, which is pretty unpleasant.
The bathrooms look like they're straight out of the 60s and haven’t been updated since. The shower taps are barely hanging on, and the sign on the door indicating it's a shower is hand-drawn. The shower tray clogs up and fills with water. As for the toilets, there’s a squat urinal and a couple of regular toilets, which are at least clean.
The kiosk sells coffee, liquor, and pastries, but it looks more like a messy pantry than a place where you'd want to buy anything.
At night, the noise from the traffic is constant, and the campsite is crawling with mosquitoes and frogs, making it tough to get any sleep.
Another big downside is that the owners have several dogs roaming around freely, and the pitches are full of dog poop. I stepped in two piles just walking from our tent to the bathroom in one morning.
It’s true that there’s a swimming pool on-site, but we didn’t use it. We can only hope it meets the minimum sanitation standards.
Overall, this campsite is way overpriced considering the poor quality and maintenance of the facilities. It’s a real shame because it’s only about 20 minutes from the Ferrari Museum, which, by the way, is a huge letdown. If you’ve been to museums like Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, or Audi, I’d recommend skipping the Ferrari Museum and checking out the Enzo Ferrari Museum instead, which offers a far better collection, exhibition, architecture, and overall experience.
If you’re stuck like we were with no other choice but to stay here, I suggest visiting the nearby tavern called Gnocco e Tigelle and trying the "Gnocco" – it’s a local specialty and pretty tasty.
In short, this place is an overpriced disaster. Avoid...
Read moreWe travel every year to Greece either from Ancona or Bari. The problem is that there are few campsites close to the autostrada until we found this one. It is super close to the autostrada exit which means that there is some noise but not enough to bother us. There are two restaurants close by which we used. The facilities were clean and we avoided using the bomb aimer toilets by using the disabled toilet.||||We found the reception and bar staff friendly in fact the owner went far beyond the normal to help us when our beloved cat, frustrated by spending two days in a travelling box decided to escape. After staying one extra day, our cat didn’t return despite searching so we assumed he had been killed. The owner Ivan telephoned us the evening after our departure to say our cat had returned. Ivan kept him safe and well fed until we made the 600km return trip. ||||I can say that if you have pets you will be welcome. ||||The campsite is close to a really good shopping mall with a large and excellent supermarket.||||I think the main plus points for me are the great location, especially if visiting the attractions of Modena and the kind people. I think that as improvements being made to the road layout are finished, the traffic noise will reduce.||||We will definitely make this a regular...
Read moreWe stayed for two days in the middle of August and found the campsite to be much larger than we thought. We travel with a car and 8m touring caravan. The Modena Campsite is totally suitable for the largest of units even with trailers, there is no limit as to what can be accommodated as the access drive is wide and there is plenty of space on site to manoeuvre. Whatever your size, you’ll be fine. The outdoor pool is excellent with no shortage of sun loungers. There is an onsite bar, more of a kiosk, with a good choice of drinks and daily fresh bakery. The facilities are dated, but clean and efficient. The showers and washing areas all have adjustable temperature and volume taps, not timed push buttons. There is a washing machine and drying lines are provided. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. The Grandmillia Shopping Mall, with over 80 shops, a huge Coop Hypermarket and designer outlets are less than 1.4km away. We found it a great place to relax...
