Hotel la Ninfea — Hotel in Montesilvano

I spent ages trying to select the right hotel for our short-break from the UK and the reviews for this one were so glowing and positive and the facilities seemed tip top for the cost so I plumped for it. I had no idea that major building work is going on next door so work starts at 7am and creates noise and some dust. I didn't know that there would be no furniture on the balcony so we couldn't use it. I didn't expect that although there is an air-con unit it wouldn't be available for use for at least a month! I didn't realise that the private beach cafe linked to the hotel would be shut and that all that the hotel could provide was a repetative breakfast and a small bar in the evening. On the positive side - the hotel has a good car park, is very clean in both the room and the public rooms, the staff are friendly, the towels and bedding are good and the shower was powerful and efficient. The location is at the north end of Monesilvano just a short walk to where it merges with Pescara and is set back behind a small pine copse which shelters it from heavy traffic. This is a dog walking area providing a cut through to the beach. The area has a very sandy shore and seems to offer safe bathing but this whole region seemed shut - April is clearly far too early for holiday makers as far as this part of Italy is concerned. The reception staff need to be more informative and well educated about their area as we were not warned that the tourist info centre would be closed, that 90% of restaurants close on a Monday. We were on the third floor and there is a lift. The room is of adequate size with a small fridge which was useful, as is the free wi-fi. The TV has plenty of channels - all of them Italian. I found my bed comfortable but having booked a twin room was surprised we got a single and a double. It would have been handy to have an easy chair. There is a phone charging point and somewhere to store suitcases. If you order coffee from the bar in the morning it comes at an extra cost but the coffee machine in the breakfast room makes a superior brew...

Honestly, I didn´t expect too much, as I only searched for some one night stay during my business trip and chose this hotel as a cheap solution as usually hotels near the sea are cheap in the offseason period. Nevertheless, I was quite surprised by the quality of this hotel. It just began with an awesome lady at the reception which was far better than many receptionist at 4-5 stars hotels, very friendly (in a natural way, without pretending), assuring that you are fully satisfied, professional at 100 per cent.||In terms of the rooms I found them quite large and especially very clean, furbished simply, but in a practical way. The only negative side was a strange shower curtain which doesn´t protect very well. The Wi-Fi was working, the temperature was fine, easy to regulate. The breakfast was with a good choice, both salt and sweet.||The hotel has also its own parking, but I would have some doubts whether it has enough places when it´s fully booked. Io e mio marito abbiamo trascorso una piacevole settimana, con formula pensione completa+open bar, presso questa struttura, fine Luglio inizio Agosto 2023. Il servizio parcheggio interno è un servizio che pochi offrono ed è un punto a loro favore, è grande e non devi impazzire. Arrivi parcheggi l'auto e ti godi la vacanza. Il personale della reception è stata gentile e accogliente, sia all'arrivo che alla partenza. La spiaggia presso il loro lido privato è a pochissimi metri, basta attraversare una pineta. La camera è pulita, confortevole e delle giuste dimensioni, con un grande balcone con stendino per la biancheria bagnata. Il servizio di pulizia viene effettuato tutti giorni. I vari pasti colazione unico turno con orario definito, ma pranzo e cena vengono effettuati su 2 turni, cosi danno la possibilità di scegliere e mangiare nell'orario che si preferisce. La colazione è sempre a buffet servito, con macchinette fai da te che hanno diverse bevande, offrono biscotti vari, torte fatte da loro, cornetti, marmellate, pancake e così via. Il servizio di ristorazione ci ha lasciati piacevolmente colpiti, con buffet servito dal personale molto disponibile e attento, finché c'è cibo si può mangiare senza "limite" se non il proprio. E' presente una parte con varietà di contorni sempre diversi e ingredienti freschi, i primi sono sempre 4 di pesce, di carne, pasta con pomodoro semplice e una pasta fredda; I secondi sono sempre 2 uno di carte e uno di pesce. A fine pasto c'è sempre un dolce ( fatto dalla loro pasticciera) il sorbetto e il gelato. Bevande con dispenser di Vino bianco e rosso e altre bibite. Gli ingredienti sono freschi e ben cucinati. La serata arrosticini è stata molto carina, con musica locale suonata dal vivo con la fisarmonica, ottimi prodotti Abruzzesi, formaggio, pane e Arrosticini buonissimi. La sala è confortevole e il tavolo che si sceglie può rimanere lo stesso per tutto il tempo del soggiorno. Il personale è molto attento, durante il pranzo gira e sparecchia i tavoli dai piatti dei pasti terminati. La formula Open Bar fornisce bevande ( acqua, the freddo, succo, coca, aranciata) di vario genere e caffè sempre gratis, la consiglio pagando quella cifra irrisoria in più. Il servizio spiaggia è nella norma con ombrellone, sdraio e sedia, con posizione anche abbastanza comoda, noi avevamo una terza fila dopo le palme. Offrono un servizio animazione tutti i giorni, con vari spettacoli soprattutto per chi ha dei bambini è un ottimo servizio. Viene effettuato sia in spiaggia che in struttura. All'interno della struttura durante l'orario della cena c'è la possibilità di lasciare i propri figli con gli animatori, mentre i genitori cenano tranquilli. Il personale di ogni area è cordiale e disponibile. Insomma noi siamo rimasti molto contenti e soddisfatti del personale, del cibo e della struttura. Ci ritorneremo...
