We spent 6 nights in Sorrento with the first three nights at a hotel in the middle of town. The last three nights were spent at Il Palazzo del Barone which is up the hill from the center of town, about a 10-15 min drive. It worked out perfectly since we were able to relax a bit from the busier pace of staying in town initially. The hosts, Fabio and Barbara, made us feel incredibly welcome in their "home." The villa and grounds were absolutely beautiful. Our room had a balcony that had a spectacular view of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. We were even able to see fireworks that were launched off the dock at Sorrento one night. We also experienced a cooking class on the night of our arrival and learned how to make fried pizza (something I had never heard of before) which was delicious. We even got to share the dinner we made with other guests that were staying there. The best part about staying here was the outstanding hospitality shown by our hosts. Barbara was always available, friendly, and eager to help us find transportation to and from the center of town, arranged for a private tour of the Amalfi coast, and helped us out with other logistical problems we had. We can't thank her enough for her help and her always professional and friendly attitude. In all, it felt like we got a taste of the true Sorrento and a feel for how the locals really live. If we were to ever return to the area, which is likely, I would have no hesitation to...

We chose full Italian with homemade sweet pastries and cakes and lovely homemade preserves. A couple at another table chose bacon and eggs and seemed perfectly happy with what they were given. A really...

Mariapia made us a huge and delicious breakfast with home-made pastries, breads, cakes and many other goodies, making us feel extremely welcome and spoiled. If ever we're back in Pietrapertosa, we'd love...
