We knew this was not going to be anything fancy and accepted that prior to going to lovely Procida for a lack of much else that was available to stay in. But as seasoned travellers, and having stayed in all types of accommodation, as well working in tourism for decades, we found this not to be a very good experience at all. We weren't comfortable here for a number of reasons:||||The many comments about the manager/owner being so fabulous were very misleading in our experience. Vincenzo didn't even seem to be properly aware of the details of our booking and was quite abrupt in his dealing with us from the onset - at first in his extremely limited English until we settled for Italian. We felt that overall he was disingenuous and made us feel quite unwelcome, like he was simply doing his job, kind of thing. So I don't know if he could tell that we were not the type to be easily impressed or what, but it certainly was nothing like others say they experienced. His partner, Carol, at least attempted to be personal, even if it did come off as being forced.||||Breakfast, if indeed pastries can be considered a breakfast, was inconsistent. The first morning an assortment of pastries and a bit of fruit was brought in. Coffee was cold - and I mean actually cold. Perhaps asking, politely, for a hot one set the tone for us for the remainder of our stay? Who knows? The second morning we only got four pastries. The final morning, again an array. I don't expect anything cooked, but some cheese and meats might have been nice or even in addition to, instead of sugar and cream filled pastries - we are in Italy, after all.||||To call it a junior suite was a stretch. A big one. Albeit a large bedroom, It had a double bed with two cots brought in to accommodate three adults and a child. It had a self-catering kitchen, but we had booked B&B and had no use for a kitchen. However, while not necessarily an issue, per se, there was nothing to clean anything with. No dish soap, no detergent, nothing, no little bits and pieces typically found in a self catering accommodations, if indeed that is what it really is, and so, we were not comfortable believing that the dishes had been washed properly prior to our arrival - especially as we found other evidence that the place had simply been given a quick do over from the last residents - a mass of matted dark hair found in the shower drain made me feel sick as soon as I stepped in there and made me wary about everything else. The shower, on the other hand, was fantastic, and perhaps the best I have ever used . . . But still. Also . . . this is supposed to be a B&B, some soap or something would have been a nice touch, even if we had brought our own shampoo and stuff anyway.||||What was going on within the walls made us feel like we were sleeping under Niagara Falls. There was a constant flow of water through the pipes all around the room, presumably from all the other units. It was almost like there was no drywall there at all, the noise of flowing water was so-o loud. Add to that, that anytime anyone turned on a tap on the property there was a noise that sounded somewhere between a blow horn and a dying parrot coming from the plumbing outside. Not so funny when you have many other visitors coming in and washing/showering at all hours of the night.||||The beds only had a single sheet and no other bed clothes and was really quite cold and uncomfortable at night. Yes we could have asked for a blanket, I suppose, but really didn't feel comfortable asking for anything at all.||||The junior suite states it accommodates four, but the cot was entirely inappropriate for a full paying adult. This should have been stated in the description. The only other furniture was a wardrobe and a table with an inappropriate picture of a naked woman reclining that our 8yr old was exposed to as soon as we walked into the room.||||The property has the potential for a good stay, it is relatively easy to get about from, the rooms spacious and from the exterior is quite pleasing to the eye, it has a flat screen and wi-fi, but we thought, overall, it was poorly managed and a tad...
Read moreThe ideal place to stay while on Procida island! 😃The host was always available, spoke English very well, replied very fast to any question we had, showed us and told us what and when to visit, where to eat best and even gave us a car ride to the harbor on our departure day as it was quite rainy outside. He is very friendly and we had good laughs each time we talked. The room was very clean, cozy and well equipped and the view was gorgeous: you could see the island and you were surrounded by the orange and mandarine trees of the beautiful garden on the B&B property. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with local pastry products, mandarine fruits picked-up on the spot and freshly squeezed orange juice. I will leave here a few photos of the place. Also the location is great, 15 minutes by foot from the harbor. Me and my bofriend higly recommend staying at B&B Mediteranneo! For my boyfriend was actually his second time here and we both look forward to staying here again on the next occasion we come to visit Procida. Big hugs and thanks to our host,...
Read moreI really enjoyed our stay. The colorful facility with nature is amazing, especially common garden was very pleasant. The room was wide, spacious and clean. There was also terrace in front of the room with table and chairs. The staff was very nice and helpful. Especially Vincenzo's warm wekcome and tips about the island by the map was very nice. The breakfast was wide and delicous in the beautiful garden. The only sad thing is location, it is a bit far to the center you have to walk around 20 min. as public transportation of the island is...
