The owners/management were welcoming and on hand throughout our stay, but it was the restaurant staff that really shone. Friendly service every day and the standard, quantity and variety of food was excellent. Ample breakfast and varied dinners of multiple courses. ||||The standards of cleanliness in the rooms and public areas was also excellent right down to the ski locker room. Every day the cleaners came in and cleaned the room, made the beds and provided fresh towels if needed, plus turn down service in the evenings. ||||I really was pleasantly surprised at the standard of hotel at an inexpensive price and would recommend it to anyone. ||||The only thing I would have liked to have seen was a more inviting lounge area with comfy seats to relax in. There was a lounge but it was not as appealing as it could have been. We have just come back from a wonderful week's stay at Hotel La Plaza in Corvara. The team are very hospitable, warm and friendly and seem to genuinely delight in pleasing their guests. The hotel is traditional and authentic, maintaining it's own alpine features without needing to go down the route of a contrived look that some hotels have. Our room was very comfortable and spacious with amazing views up towards the Gardena Pass and we also enjoyed using the sauna on a couple of occasions. The breakfast had a great range of food for setting us up for a day of walking and the evening meal had some interesting options but all was delicious. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the village but set back from the main road, with the lifts, bus stops, bakers, supermarket all within easy distance. We stayed for 2 nights in 2020 before the resort closed to Covid and promised ourselves a return visit when we could. We stayed a week this time as we had been well looked after in the Covid crisis. The hotel is a well run family affair, spotlessly clean with friendly staff, especially in the dining room. Very good breakfasts and substantial evening meals (not haut cuisine, some stand out dishes eg seafood spaghetti, and some more basic) Rooms are very clean with comfortable beds. Sound proofing rather poor, but it is not a noisy hotel. Bathrooms dated but so so clean it really does not matter at all.
