This is a really nice, new cozy lodge. My husband and I stayed here for three nights in January, in the Bellerophon room. Our room was really spacious with a generous lounge and bathroom. The toilet was separate to the shower and there were two sinks, as well as a bath!
We didn’t use the kitchen but it was a really good space, and it was super clean and tidy, it actually looked brand new, and had all the utensils and things you could need to cook.
The staff were absolutely amazing and the room service was top-notch, they cleaned the space so well for us, in fact it was the best service we had in our trip to Europe, the room was so spotless. However, on one occasion the room service let themselves in whilst we were at breakfast and we had to ask them to come back for us so we could get ready to leave, I recommend using the do not disturb sign so you don’t get caught in this situation. On the same day when we got back they were back in our room doing something to the kitchen which made us feel uneasy that they would let themselves in whenever, and again we had to get ready to go and it was awkward with people in there. When we asked what he was doing in the kitchen he didn’t really say.
The complimentary breakfast was top-notch and the food is of a really good quality. They have a juicer so each morning I made my own juice with they’re selection of fruits and veg which was so nice. I think my husband would have liked some more variety in hot foods, I ordered they’re omelette every morning as I also like hot breakfasts and it was delicious.
I used they’re self wash option while I was there and got our laundry done. It’s a professional grade washer and dryer so really good but the drier wasn’t working on the day so they offered to dry the clothes in theres. Not sure why but two of my thermals got burned in the drier and they were very fast to replace them during my stay with a brand new set from a really good European brand which I was so thankful for as we still had to visit one other city before heading back home.
The space itself is really tidy, homey, cozy, warm and toasty and they also give really heavy duvets for bed. However I had trouble sleeping most nights because it was too warm, you can call reception and ask them to turn the heating off which I did about twice, and they tell you that thythey have to talk to they’re boss? in the end I ended up just having the windows open 24 hours and the room was still warm so the heating definitely works !!!
Overall I think if you love to ski or just want to take a break and check out the Dolomites this is the perfect place to be ! The ski field is just 2 mins away, and they have a close by town called la villa with loads of awesome restaurants. The residence itself doesn’t serve room service or have a restaurant downstairs so I recommend driving up there so you have your own car to get...
Read moreFirst time back since our honeymoon ten years ago. We wanted this to be a 10-year anniversary celebration treat. It was such a let down. ||We stayed for 4 nights in total with a the stay being a trio of two halves. The first two days the staff and service was generally very good with the usual attention to detail. On our third night we had the arrival of guests above us. We could hear EVERYTHING they were saying and their stamping about kept us awake until gone 2am. I asked to change rooms for our final night but was told that there were no rooms available…the caveat being that there were on the first floor but that these were ‘clean’ rooms and so we couldn’t use them?! Our last night was spent waiting for those above us to go to bed before we could; around midnight in the end. ||The service I received from the receptionist was abysmal in regard to the issue I raised about the rooms. We paid a heck of a lot of money for this stay and it was ruined by her responses and the lack of empathy. Rooms WERE available and could have been used. ||The breakfast throughout was disordered and chaotic; the lady hosting got multiple orders wrong and was extremely abrupt. We stayed out of peak season and the service requirements were by no means overwhelming in the slightest. ||Finally the ‘private dining experience’ offered from their chef was over-priced and extremely bland. ||On a positive note (!) Andrea is a great asset to the hotel. A very positive and likeable guy. ||I can never see us wanting to come back here again and we feel really disappointed with how relatively poor the hotel is for the premium you are...
Read moreImpeccable hotel experience smack in the middle of the Dolomites. Reception is friendly and helpful, and the small lobby bar hosts an afternoon snack with a glass of wine each day. We enjoyed our bubbly on the balcony while marveling at the Dolomites in our backyard.
Each two-room suite is beautifully appointed with a fantastic kitchen and all the wellness touches one could hope for (fresh fruit, purified water, pillow menu, natural soaps and shampoos). It's also so clever to have an small nook when you enter for all your muddy/snowy boots and gear!
The spa is small but incredibly relaxing. In addition to saunas and steam rooms, there is an amazing Swedish sauna that is coupled with a cold water dunk pool housed in a giant wooden barrel. Tea and light snacks are self-service, and there are plenty of nooks to read and relax in. The gym is small but well-equipped.
The breakfast included with the room is amazing! Fresh, local, and always changing each day plus you can order eggs and espresso drinks from the friendly waitstaff. We got some of our best travel tips from them in the morning!
The only two small drawbacks are that there is not a restaurant in the hotel (but they do serve homemade ice cream at the bar) and the parking situation was a bit confusing when we arrived. We parked at the bottom of the hotel and then walked up several flights of stairs to the lobby.
We were hoping to return in October but sadly, they take a fall break and don't open again until Christmas. However, this is the kind of place you'd want to return to again no matter the distance....
