We booked an apartment suite through VRBO which I would never recommend because getting support for this booking required that I call every day for four days to finally get a satisfactory response because my booking was then sent to Expedia, and neither organization could figure out what was going on. I accidentally put in only 2 adults when it should have been 2+baby. The hotel staff were entirely unhelpful in this regard and had a stance that kept changing at every turn. First they said we could not have the room, and that we could pay materially more for a different room. Then they said we could get a credit for our room put towards a tiny hotel room that would not cost us any extra. Then, when we went to check out after only one night in the cramped shoe box room they gave us, they must have had a change of heart and said we could have our original apartment room after all. Then, when we said we were leaving anyway, they said we could get a partial refund for the nights we didn’t stay. Finally they returned to the original statement that it was our fault and we would not receive any refund at all. These positions were all clearly arbitrary, and at the discretion of the staff. Had they exercised their discretion from the get go, and recognized that an 8 month old baby bears no additional cost to the hotel, and that it would be inconvenient for us to come up with a new plan, none of this had to happen. Read moreTo begin with, we'd like to point out that the location of the hotel was great, very close to the ski renting (ran by a wonderful family, incredibly helpful, and we got a discount for staying at the hotel). The walk to the lift is very short, so the location of the hotel is fantastic. Regarding our stay: It's shame that the room didn't have enough storage for drying ski clothes, 1 heated panel isn't enough to dry 3 people's clothes. Installing a couple of hooks here and there (instead of the picture of cows in the bedroom for instance, which we had to remove to hang our clothes) seems completely realistic and would be helpful. There was no cleaning service throughout our stay. It would be helpful if we knew that before booking our stay, as there was no information whatsoever about the absence of cleaning during the booking process. Therefore the price asked for the room does't seem to correspond with the service provided, or should I say, complete lack of it. We understand that the access to wellness area is paid, which is fine even though it is still a little bizarre bearing in mind the cost of the accommodation, however the fact that you have to pre book when you want to go there is incredibly inconvenient. Every day you finish skiing at a different time and it is simply impossible to predict when you'll want to go to the sauna. The good: Size of the Residences apartment is comfortable and large bathroom. Hotel seems newly renovated. Beautiful view from our room Central location near shops and supermarkets Breakfast buffet is decent
They are listed as a 4-star hotel without 4 star amenities or service. Here is the bad: Bathroom sink did not drain. We had to stick a knife to hold the plug open just to wash our hands every day. Dishwasher did not work and smelled inside. Requested assistance and they couldn’t figure it out. You have to remove your own trash like an Airbnb or be fined. Swimming pool is so small and humid. They do not provide towels. My parents had dinner at the hotel restaurant and both had bowel issues until the next morning. We told the manager at breakfast and he responded “was it the sushi?” But that was all. I prepaid for 4 days of 4 adult breakfast buffets but they didn’t seem to have that record strangely. One morning the manager brought me the bill and I had to correct him. Two other mornings, I requested takeaway breakfast because we had to leave very early (and they could not cancel/refund it) and they gave the most pathetic sandwiches that aren’t even fresh items from their buffet and definitely not worth $15pp. They prepared the wrong quantity another time and I had to request a refund....
