The location is fantastic, Antico Casolare is less than a 10 minute stroll into San Gimignano. The photographs are deceptive as it isn't very far at all. There is also a supermarket about the same distance away for all your needs just outside the walled town, too. Antico Casolare also has secure parking on-site.||The room we has was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight everyday with fresh produce and plenty of it.||The view of San Gimignano whether at breakfast, or as the sun set behind the town late afternoon or at night, was always stunning and memorable. ||As for Gabriella, she is a wonderful host. The communication before we arrived was prompt and informative and the way she treated all her guest when they arrived was warm and welcoming. Gabriella has also collated and prepared a lot of useful information about the area and nearby cities, towns and villages and is more than happy to help whenever asked. She was a perfect host and we thoroughly recommend Antico Casolare as a great base to explore San Gimignano, as well as the surrounding Tuscan hills and all...
Read moreEarly June 2025 we stayed 2 weeks at Antico Casolare, beautifully situated just outside San Gimignano. A splendid B&B accomodation, centrally located between Firenze and Siena, Pisa and Arezzo. Our room (Orchid) was perfect, clean like nothing else, fresh bedsheets and towels every 3 days, outstanding breakfasts in the garden with lots of home baked local specialities and much more. The garden itself is also very nice, with comfortable seats all around, a breathtaking view on the medieval city of San Gimignano, the most beautiful sunsets and fireflies between the olivetrees late at night. Then, last but not least : owner and hostess Gabriella Spinelli : Always available, a walking tourist info centre, always kind and willing to help and assist, always finding time for a friendly chat......In short : Antico Casolare is THE place to be in Tuscany. Dear Gabriella, Once again: thank you very much for ourunforgettable holidays...
Read moreThe location of this B&B was great for us, less than a 10 minute walk outside the city walls (along a quiet road), and yet it felt like we were right in the countryside. From the garden there are lovely views back to San Gimignano with the surrounding vineyards and olive groves.||||Our host was very helpful and recommended several place to visit and a handful of restaurants that offered a 10% discount to guests of the B&B (we dined at 2 of these and were very happy with our recommendations). Breakfast was served in the garden and consisted of a tasty spread of fresh pastries and cakes and was more than enough to set us up for the day ahead.||||Our room was very comfortable with a large bathroom, private entrance and free wi-fi. It was warm in the room, however we were given a fan on our second night and slept much better. ||||San Gimignano is a wonderful town to visit and I would recommend staying at...
